Basically knows everything about every part of the social sciences and humanities, period. She's super nice to guys in the class who might have otherwise felt out of place in a WGSt class. I wish she wasn't retiring because she is AWESOME

She is an genius and she LOVES what she teaches; true passion for her work. She assigns a lot of readings, you had better keep up. She is a difficult marker, but worth it, she challenges you. I learned so much from her.

I LOVED taking her class! In 4 years of university I can honestly say I learned more in her class than in many of my other classes. She obviously loves what she teaches and really wants you to get something out of the class. She also used a variety of resources so class was always interesting. She was also really cool about extending dealines.

Brilliant! Never ceases to amaze me. Even in a completely specific course (like 398, on feminist & gender theory in sci-fi and tech) she manages to pull something out of the bag for anyone. Across-the-board hypersmart, open-minded and easily e-mail accessible. I can't sing her praises often enough.

An intelligent, well-rounded, admirable woman. Some see her as a battleaxe just because she has high expectations, but I see her as keen and fair. I don't mind her biases whatsoever, because she only presents them to a class as a challenge and to start discussions. Appreciate her, dammit.
