After this English class I will never take another university English class. She mentioned how she is not a hard marker, yet I failed every essay I wrote and received 70&-80% overall in my other university classes. I work hard and get my essays looked over and they are still not worthy enough to pass. She marks very hard for a first year English

This class was by far the worst and hardest class I have taken. She marks very hard for a first year English class and is very traditional. Her lectures are boring and non-motivating/irrelevant. I would not recommend taking this class unless you are an English professional.

Going into this class, I was fairly confident in my writing abilities. Her class has changed that. On some of what I thought were my best essays, I hardly managed to pull a 60. Her lectures are long and boring. All we did was analyze literature without learning anything, and if you don't agree with her opinion, you are "wrong". Brutal.

Terrible teacher, terrible classes. She gives very monotone, hour-long lectures that don't aid students learning at all. Her marking can be pretty fair though, if you know what you're doing.

Gail is okay if she likes you. She's a hard marker, probably a bit too hard for a first year English class. She really expects perfection. To do well you have to just suck it up and write what she wants, because if your opinion differs from hers she disregards it immediately. Plastic dasani water bottles will forever remind me of her.

Long boring lectures, easy english essays. Bring your laptop or charge your phone, download a new TV series, etc. She's a bit stringent on the grammerformatting. Can you point out the mistakes in 'I could care less' or 'He should of helped'? If so, you'll do okay.

Absolutely brutal. She takes boring to the new level, during mid lecture you look around and ninety percent of the class is either on the phone or sleeping. I finished about three series on netflix because of this class. On top of the agonizing lectures she marks extremely hard and crucifies you if you have a different opinion. Choose anybody else.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She is the worst proff I have encounter. Her class is so boring and dry. When it comes to essays, her marking is everywhere and she feed back is horrible. She is very vague with descriptions and excepts you to argue only her opinion. If you have a different opinion than her, except a fail. Worst English class ever!

Here's the quick version: you have a different opinion? fail. You have a unique idea that she hasn't thought of? fail. You don't write PhD-level English essays for an intro-level English course? Definite fail. She's harsh and boring, not to mention undedicated and late to almost every class (seriously, one class a week and you can't be bothered?)

Before I took her class I was so scared by the amount of negative comments I saw but I soon realized that she is a great teacher! She is very helpful and makes time outside of class to look at students' writing to help them improve. She is very approachable and very nice! Sure there is a boring lecture here and there but she is a terrific prof!

Her class was one of the worst I've taken. She is awful to listen to and incredibly boring. However if you spit out her opinion you tended to do alright. She had grammar on her tests which we spent maybe one day on in class. Her outfits were the only thing that made class worth going too.

She is easily the worst prof I have ever encountered. I took another english class and got 80s, not to mention my essays in other classes have been at least 80s as well. Then with her you're lucky to get a 50. Unless you think EXACTLY how SHE does, your opinion is always wrong and you fail. So save yourself the trouble and DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!

the class was all over the place, it was next to impossible to take notes, and she took almost two months to post final marks, and when she did, she entered mine wrong so I had try and track her down to fix it since she doesn't use her email very often

She has her opinion on what the class reads and will rip you apart if you have a different opinion. Marks essays super hard but you will get a good mark if you write what she believes and do formatting correctly. Very specific. Discussion in class is all over the place and it is difficult to take good notes.

Wonderful lady, very nice. Willing to help if you need it! Go to class and actually spend a decent amount of time writing your essays and you will be fine!
