I really enjoyed this class. There are bi-weekly quizzes, one midterm, and 3 written assignments that are all fair assessments of how well you know the material. Dr. Holmberg posts skeleton slides on Acorn and it's up to you to fill them in but she is interesting to listen to.

Dr. Holmberg is awesome! She's passionate about psychology, which is evident through her lectures. I found her teaching style engaging and easy to follow. She's very precise about what she expects from you. If you don't get the text book, you need to attend (I didn't get it and still did really well because I took good notes).

Talks quietly in class, the tests were not representative of the examples given/concepts talked about in class. Only has 2-8 slides in a chapter, hand notes recommended. She let the class discussions get out of hand, one student was distracting, attention seeking and annoying.

She has a great sense of humour and energy during her lectures, but when she gets excited about something she talks really fast and in a pretty low voice, so I had a hard time hearing a lot of the time. Though the lectures were clear, the questions on quizzes/midterms were a lot harder than the examples given in class.. hard to apply

Very sweet and approachable. :) It is actually fun to come to class because she has very fun and interesting lectures unlike other professors who just read off the slides. She gives you straight forward grading rubrics for assignments and isn't vague about how her tests will be made up. Seriously recommend taking this course with her!

Diane is a really great prof! You should go to the class because she does talk about more than what is on the slides but she makes the material really interesting and easy to understand! Really enjoy her class, would take another with her in a second!

Diane is a funny little woman. She has a cute sense of humor and is very good at what she does. She knows the information and knows how to teach it. If you go to class and listen you will do well in her class. She is fair and the class can actually be fun.

Generally a good course, though it is not my favorite in Psychology. Marking is fair, though not easy. Found the midterms need great detail to complete a well written answer. Multiple choice can also be tricky as she uses them often. However if you are into the social/arts psych, you will love this

I loved this course. So interesting. She has excellently organized powerpoint slides, and puts them up before class so you can add notes to them in class. Very helpful, very nice, and overall I have all positive things to say about her and her Social Psych course. Take it!

Agreed: her intentions are good and she is ubernice, but she does tend to drive students up the wall. Anoying voice, EXTREMELY repetitive, but easygoing, interested in subject and students. She is a great person and a good prof, it's just that she could review her technique...

May be hard at first to get use to her voice, but she really did try to make class entertaining. Her exams are a lot like Symons in first semester with the addition of some short answer questions which can be very tricky. But overall it was a great course
