Had her for social research. You have to read the textbook and it is a time consuming class. She does care about your success in it. You have a big semester long group project and my partner dropped the class but I still had to do it by myself instead of being put in a group.

Dr. Illig is a knowledgeable professor who cares about the content she teaches. However, she assigns 5-6 long reading assignments every week and you have to summarize your readings. You also have to do group discussions and have one big paper and presentation. It was interesting class, but you have to invest a lot of work to get a good grade.

Dr. Illig is truly one of the most caring and passionate professors I have ever had. Her classes are A LOT of reading and involve numerous essays and projects but, the work is totally worth it! Soci325 is easily one of the best classes I have ever taken and Dr. Illig taught me so much. If you can handle the workload, I highly recommend this class!

This class won't be easy. Prepare yourself for a lot of reading and writing. I barely got a B in the class for a B and higher you will have to work for it. The silver lining is that she is not a hard grader. Tough class but I learned a lot.

Way way way to much work for this class! Lectures are not bad but she doesn't use power points. Honestly don't take her, this should not be a 4 credit class it should be 8 with the amount of work that there is assigned.

Hardest and most time consuming class I've taken at Salisbury and Im a senior. Get ready to put in at least 10-15 hours of week alone for her class. With papers every week (6 page papers), reading at least 5 chapters a week, group projects, a 12 page paper, pop quizzes, & hard exams STAY AWAY FROM PROFESSOR ILLIG.

Between the 4 textbooks, online readings, group discussions(with analysis forms), bi-weekly papers(3-6 pages single spaced), lecture notes, pop-quizzes(weekly), exams (7 questions in essay format) and final project (12 pages single spaced and 1 hour power point) get ready to have NO time for anything else.

Too much work, I can't keep up, too much reading, I have no time to do anything else. If she didn't give so much work she wouldn't be so bad

Dr. Illig gets a bad rap. I took this class as a last resort to fulfill my minor, but I'm so happy I did. Dr. Illig does require a good bit of reading, but for good reason to prep you for lecture and the 2 exams given in the semester. She genuinely cares about who you are and wants you to do well. Go to class and take good notes and you're fine.

Very tough grader. Doesn't use PowerPoint everything is written on a board. Very helpful outside of class. Emailing is pointless go to her office. Confusing at times and you better be ready to read. There were 4 books to read throughout the semester. Very time consuming not for full time students.

Her class is A LOT of work with weekly papers and 4 readings. However, she is a really great professor. She is tough, but is willing to help with anything you ask her about. If you don't mind having a fair amount of work to do, then I would recommend taking her.

Interesting class at first but its EXCESSIVE reading (4 textbooks). Be prepared to read your life away and if you dont read, be the best BSer you can. Shes very helpful outside of class, class is very draining and lectures with no visuals. Sometimes she gets in her feelings about sexuality so choose your words carefully!

She is willing to help students and generally a really nice person, but I cannot say she is a great teacher. She piles on overwhelming work for a 300 level class. And grades very difficult. Her questions are often broad and unclear, leaving you open for an opinion, but if you do not comply to the views imposed you will certainly fail.

Diane is definitely an awesome professor. She's very open, and if you attend her office hours, she is extremely helpful. She treats you like an adult, and expects you to act/work like one. That being said, this class is a LOT of work. You have to work for your grade. Regardless, I think this is one of the better classes I've taken at SU.

Dr. Illig is not going to be the easiest professor you ever have, there is ALOT of reading for this class and papers to write. Also, the tests require that you do all the readings and actually know what they are talking about. But it's a fun class and you learn alot. You'll just be really tired of writing at the end.

If you're a serious student and want to try and learn then she is the perfect professor. This is college and if you expect to work at a level that reflects that then this is your professor if you want to goof off and pretent you're still in high school then stay away. She treats students like adults and due to this you are expected to perform.
