Comment:

Stango definitely makes you work for your grade. But I have never enjoyed a history class more. Tests are hard but quizzes are easy. It's definitely worth taking despite the work load because she makes lecture interesting and easy to understand. If you have perfect attendance she will drop your lowest quiz grade and double the highest also.

Stango? More like StanGOAT. Best history teacher I ever had. She is very energetic and captures your attention the entire class. You do have to write down most of what comes out of her mouth but she actually makes the info interesting. There are 3 exams and 3 quizzes. No papers or essays which is great. Just study hard & you'll love her class. GOAT

I am not a history major, but was required to take it. Be aware, she talks non stop for the entire class. If you like power points and visual aids, dont take this class. Hard to follow and know what to write down. Tests are difficult. Gives generous extra credit and quizzes on articles which are easy. I don't like her style of teaching at all.

Dr. Stango is one of the funniest professors on campus. She is so charismatic and energetic during her lectures, which make them fun and not long. The quizzes are straightforward if you read the material and the test are a little tough but she gives extra credit that you could use to boost your grade.

Dr. Stango is a great professor. She is funny and makes not-so-interesting material less dry. As long as you read the articles for the quizzes and study for the tests you should be fine. Tests are hard but if you take notes they aren't too bad. If you have perfect attendance you can drop your lowest quiz and double your highest.

Loved listening to her lectures! She doesn't assign papers, only one optional extra credit project and three tests. She also gives quizzes on these articles she assigns. Lots of reading but I loved the class overall

Stango is great. Great lectures. Very straight forward quizzes and exams. All multiple choice and true/false. many opportunities for extra credit. She loves history and loves teaching it. if you pay attention in class and do the reading you will easily get atleast a B+

Second time I've had her and second time I've rated her. One of, if not THE, best history professors at the University. Be prepared for some liberal and anti-conservative remarks. I had no problem with it, but some might. Not a very interactive class, but she definitely holds attention with her lectures. Makes history fun. I always recommend her.

Stango is a great professor. I was always told Boga is the best, but Stango cannot be far behind. She is emphatic while teaching and helps the information stick in your head. If you take good notes and read what she tells you, you're guaranteed a B+. Extra Credit assignment at the end of the year allows for 1-5 points on your AVERAGE. Take her!

Stango is a great professor, plain and simple. Funny, passionate about the material, clear, and helpful. Decent amount of reading but nothing ridiculous. I'm a finance major and I will be taking her again just because of how enjoyable her class is. Definitely take her.

Professor Stango was a great professor. She didn't leave out any detail in lecture, and she lays out all the important information on the board before class starts, so you just have to follow along when she mentions a subject, and takes notes. Read the assigned readings, it's a shortened textbook so it's not bad. Overall a great teacher and fun.

This class required so much reading it isn't even funny. If your not interested in history go with a different teacher. She tries to keep it interesting but sometimes she goes on and on about stuff that isn't on the test. Good teacher but if your looking for an easy class, this is not the class for you.

Definitely my favorite professor this semester. Would take her again in a heartbeat if she wasn't like the first history professor to fill up. Seriously, just read what she tells you to read and you will have no trouble getting an A. If you do poorly in this class, it's 100% your fault for not reading. One of the best teachers at Scranton. I loved Prof. Stango. It was like listening to my grandma tell stories about American history. She gave interesting and funny lectures that kept my attention. The quizzes are tricky but you can drop one if you have perfect attendance and the tests are so-so.
