RUN AWAY NOW! Horrible professor and person in general. For someone who teaches a loss & grief class, she is not understanding about anything at all. She says one thing and then forgets about it and lies that she sends emails and doesn't. She also gives an INSANE amount of work that takes away from your other classes that actually matter.

She was a good yet intense professor. Going to office hours will definitely help and it shows her you care about your grade. However, she was unrealistic about deadlines, and the homework she gave was way too intensive. This class takes time away from other classes, so manage your time. If you want the A, get ready to work for it.

She is a good teacher in terms of helpfulness and willingness to work with the students. However, she assigns a lot of homework/projects and yet she claims that she is relatively an easy teacher and that it is us that are unreasonable in our claims. When you near the end of the course you feel a sense of achievement. Overall, would maybe take again

I'm not done yet with my FYSM class but she seems nice right now but the work is crazy. She does not realize how much work she is actually giving and it's extremely tough to keep up with something like this that has nothing to do with my major.

I originally was in her First Year Seminar class, but after the first two classes quickly realized I needed to save myself and switch to a different class. She gives an enormous amount of homework compared to every other First Year Seminar and didn't seem very accepting of alternative views from herself. Hers is definitely the worst Seminar.

She gives out too much work and does not give any sympathy if you do not do it correctly. She does help you out when you ask. She is bipolar at times, one minute she will be nice and the next she's flipping out on you. If you get her I would recommend switching out. Not worth the stress

Ok so let's all be honest, we all have those classes where the teachers are so mean that you don't want to go to class. This will be one of you classes, but you can make it better by talking to her individually outside of class. She is very strict and abrasive in class, but one on one she is very kind and caring. Go the extra mile, it's worth it.

comes off abrasive and rude. she is a little moody and unclear with directions and if you email her questions she isn't normally clear then either. she has good intentions, i don't think she understands how students see her. go to her office hours. it will save your life.

Very demanding and asks for way too much. She does not understand that students are taking other classes and can't spend their life on her assignments. Gives a major assignment as well as a "mini-assignment" at the same time, each totaling well over 15 pages when finished. Way too much reading and writing every single night.

she is very demanding and gives A LOT of work. she is extremely knowledgable and teaches you so much. she's got a really strong personality and means business, but at the same time she is very compassionate and very easy to talk to. she's going on a leave in 2010, but will be back.

She comes across as very rude and judgemental, but when you approach her in office hours she is willing to do anything to help. I don't think she realizes how she comes across so didn't like her at first, but when she sees you're making an effort she's right there to help you and make exceptions. Just don't take her rudeness personally.
