Comment:

Attendance isn't mandatory, but the tests are based solely off the lectures. As long as you take good notes, and study the terms on the board then you can easily pass his tests. There are 3 tests and one big paper that makes up your grade. He is very old school, and lectures with no powerpoint so pay attention.

I found his class to be interesting. As long as you take notes and pay attention you will be fine. I had a HS teacher like him and found that color coding helps a lot. I do not think you have to attend class as long as you have someone you can bum notes from. I suggest getting the book for lecture but never used the text book.

Comment:

Super funny professor, hates when people walk in late!! Go to his lectures and you will do good on the tests. There is a discussion class, that is part of your grade so just read the chapter and you just have to say a couple things about it. Very easy and doable class.

I didn't mind his lectures, I found him somewhat interesting. BUT whether I studied didn't matter, I still failed either way. I took his MW 10-10:50, which had an extra 50 minute discussion class. The grading system was terrible 50pts-sanction (2) 25pts- discussion/essay. It was hard to get full credit in discussion. I will avoid taking him again.

He was ok. I found him to be interesting. However he gets annoy when people come in late. I did the class in the summer and we only had two test which kinder of make or break. He promised a syllabus which we never received. He is also very sarcastic . Overall I think he is an ok professor but would be my first choice.

The only day he ever takes attendance is on the first day, but don't miss a single day in his class. He gets straight to the point and tells you what to write. The notes are the majority of his test, so study well!

He gave scan-tron tests (worth half your grade) that were so old the paper was yellowed. They made no sense, and it was difficult to understand them. I never missed a class, took impeccable notes, read all assigned reading, and did very well on the essay portions and still only got a B. This teacher screwed up my 4.0.

He is a brillant professor. His class however was extremely difficult for me. Anything he writes on the board make sure you write down. Make sure to do good in the discussion classes and study the book and you'll be fine.

He is REALLY interesting in his upper level classes. I have take 3 of his classes and passed all of them. He only tests you on what he says in the notes. Take him MWF so the tests are easier (no essay).

He isn't funny at all. but he tries..He just reads the notes and if you don't get it you aren't going to. He has discussion classes that are useless to me. He keeps the class awake with trying to be funny but he is an OK teacher. Wouldn't strongly recommend.
