He's very nice and not intimidating; he seems like a really nice guy who just happens to be a genius. He's VERY helpful for students with disabilites as far as accomadations go. I reccomend him!

Comment:

This is by far one of the nicest professors at UT. He is always willing to help a student after class. If you do not understand something, make sure you speak up before he moves on. Watch out for his tests, and occasionally he will give an unusually hard quiz. However, he will drop your lowest quiz grades. I HIGHLY recommend him!

Probably the nicest teacher I've had so far. He moves fast so stay on top of the homework. His tests aren't the easiest, but doing all the homework really helps. If you don't understand anything, go to his office hours.

This guy is AWESOME. If you have to take Diff eq, this is the prof. to take. Exams correlate closely to his review sheets (which he gives out before each exam) and he grades very promptly. One of the best, nicest, fairest teachers I've ever had.

Dr. Hinton is a super nice professor, and most of the time his lectures are really clear and helpful. The tests and quizzes are quite fair, and are mostly easy, but usually the tests will have about 1-2 questions to distinguish the A's from the B's. That being said, his lectures can be a bit dull, but other than that, he's great!

Mathematics is my major and I have not been able to make above a B in any one of the three classes I have had with Hinton. Does not teach well at all, and focuses the information towards engineers. Beware of his honors classes!

Awesome professor, take him if you can. He has 4-5 quizzes a semester which aren't too hard if you study any, and 4-5 Maple Assignments, which are a piece of cake. His tests are harder than his quizzes but very reasonable. If you do the homeworks, you should ace the tests no problem. Going to class really helps, he knows his stuff.

While not the easiest of professors, he definitely is very knowledgeable and provides plenty of examples for additional explanation. His quizzes are easy, but tests can be more difficult. Be sure to read through the chapters and do example problems if you are confused. Overall a great, challenging class and a great professor!

This teacher is AMAZING! One of the best teachers i have ever had in the math department! If you have the opportunity to take class from this guy do it! He does not give extremely hard problems and is extremely helpful and very very clear in lectures. AWESOME PROFESSOR!
