Don is my favorite professor that I have ever had. I had him for Honors 101 A Critical Thinking and the class was fantastic. He bought our books for us and we only had to write one 2 page paper the whole semester. There was no midterm or final and he often let the class lead the discussion. If you get the chance to take Don, DO IT!

Basically didn't teach and then expected the whole class to be 300 level. I wouldn't blame my bad experience with the class as much on the professor as it was the grad student assistant. Still got a B and literally went twice.

Prof. Matthewson is hands down one of the chillest professors you'll take. I had him for POSC 340, 3 papers that's it. Lectures are extremely interesting and he let's you write your papers on any topics related to political philosophy. First 2 Papers are 5 pages, last paper is 7-10 pages. I got an A no problem! TAKE HIM!

Well he did not teach Poli Sci 100 hundred in a super long time, so his criteria was prettty tough because he usually teaches 300 level. He does not make give you anything for free, attendance is not mandatory but if you want to pass you should go and really listen to him. Would not recommend him, but if he does, good thing you onle need a D

The same students who complain are the same students who didn't show up half the time. Was it an easy class? No, but political science isn't an easy subject! Plus, he was always willing to help out. I doubt he'll teach this course again after this semester though. Overall, he's a great professor who truly wants students to learn.

People will complain about Matthewson from POSC 100, but those that complain are not doing the necessary work. It's POSC, it's a hard class! He gives you a feel for application of Politics in real life which is awesome. I used the book and got great grades. People are lazy and expect to get good grades. Do the work, get good grades. It's college!

This class is straight forward. 4 Essays throughout 16 weeks. Thats all. Topic of your choice as long as it relates to the lectures. Fair grader, just make sure your papers are coherent and you'll be fine. Don't buy the book as most greek mythology is online. Lectures are really funny and class will go by fast. Take this class!

Professor Matthewson was my favorite professor at CSUF. He gives greatl lectures and loves to argue intelligently and amicably with his students. He is a liberal and I am a conservative and argued most of thes semester but I received an A at the end and a very flattering letter of recommendation thath helped get me into law school.

The professor was very interesting as he was very knowledgeable about the subject. The papers were relatively easy. He is a very nice person overall you should not have a problem passing this class. I encourage you all to take this professor to learn about the famous philosophers. Overall experience for me was about a B-.

Lectures out of book and requires reading reaction papers of about 500 words. I found the class easy, but if you hate writing, you may find it difficult. Also, he is a funny guy who does his best to keep class interesting. He will tell personal stories/jokes and try to get a class discussion going. Overall, I found the class easy and enjoyable.

Doesn't follow the syllabus at all. Minor grammar or spelling mistakes will end up costing you significant chunks of your grade, so tripple check your papers. Very lazy grader, he takes AGES to get papers back, and always manages to find something to nitpick about.

Prof. Matthewson's lectures aren't relevant to the assignments, but they're still fairly interesting. The workload is pretty heavy, with five 500, one 1500, and a final 3000 word essay. Also his grading is a little harsh- you really have to dig into the readings and offer insights.

There is a lot of reading and you have to understand at least some of it to reiterate. He wants to see what you think about the readings, not merely that you read them. Your opinions should be well-based, probably run them by him before turning a paper in, he'll help.

There are a lot of reading and writing assignments for this class. The required class textbook is like a phone book. Don't take this class if you don't have excellent writing skills. You must understand the reading assignments in order to do well. He is a very intelligent and educated person--great guy, too. Does not reply to e-mails. TA is hot.

The guy loves his philosophy and that's that. He's funny and his lectures are usually interesting but if you miss class, you're fine. There are three essays and that's it but ask him for help and ask his TA to read over your paper before you turn it in. If I had just gone over my papers with the TA I know I would have gotten a better grade.
