He is very hard to follow because he is so scatterbrained. I could not attend lecture as being there was far to confusing to me. I would never take him again, not because he doesn't know his stuff but because I can not learn from his teaching style.

Comment:
Dr. Fischer is a good professor overall. His lectures are hard to follow and he is kind of all over the place, but if you actively engage, you will be fine. Tests are your whole grade. He tests straight from the notes AND lecture. Skip lecture, you wont do well on the test. He provides plenty of extra credit.

This professor knows psychology and he is passionate about it. He gives many opportunities for extra credit (nearly a whole letter grade) and he grades the tests on a curve. Attend his lectures and follow his passion, it will help you succeed on the tests. 4 tests and that's it. Turn up to class as some of his questions are right from his lecture.

Dr. Fischer is misunderstood by lazy students who don't want to put any effort into learning. He is a wealth of information on many different subjects in psychology, and he genuinely cares about his students. Yes, he talks fast, and yes, sometimes he goes off on tangents. However, he really wants you to learn the material and offers lots of EC.

Comment:
Dr. Fischer is brilliant. He knows his stuff. But his lectures are incredibly hard to follow. He's just so scatterbrained and his lectures get so off track and he goes on random tangents. He'll start by talking about an experiment and bring it back to like penguins... But he posts his power points. TAKE NOTES. He tests off the lectures.

Comment:
Dr. Fischer gives essay questions on the tests that make up about 20% of the points. These come from lecture and discussion so if you want a good grade you have to pay attention. The MC questions are all straight from powerpoints. It was really nice to have a professor that gave useful lectures that were interesting & not repetitive of the book.

He is very difficult to follow and understand. He goes into detail and gets off topic often. Tests are more about practical application rather than basic understanding and are extremely difficult if you have never taken a psychology class.

tough class but he is a more than fair grader. He is tough to comprehend but really makes up for it in how the tests are graded. Quite a few opportunities for extra credit. The guy runs the I/O department and definitely knows his stuff. Recommend, but know what you are getting yourself into.

Dr. Fischer is perhaps, the most misunderstood teacher at MSU. You hardly realize, until class is finished and you've barely passed, how much he cares about you. I don't know another professor who works so hard to find internships for students and deeply cares for students. That said, I did not like his class when I took it. But, I love him now

Fischer is a nice guy. Sometimes he gets off task and can pontificate. His heart is in the right place and he cares about his students. If you get behind or confused, set up an appointment with him to get help.

Comment:
Fischer over explains every obvious detail to the point that class becomes painful. The entire 1h 15m class is often spent on only one or two slides. Don't ask any questions, he won't listen to you and will instead try to reexplain something unrelated. If you have previous knowledge of the subject then the tests are a breeze. Would not recommend.

AVIOD this teacher at all cost. I loved Pyschology in high school, and have talked to other people who have an easier class than me. I study so much for his tests and never do good. He doesn't get his questions from the book, practice questions, or his lecture notes. You can't understand anything he says in lecture. you're pretty much screwed.

He has zero clarity. He doesn't make any sense, and goes off topic quite frequently. I had to use slides just to stay on topic. I would rather fight Rocky than attend his class.

Great teacher for intersession classes he is very, very knowledgeable. He will take the time after class to help you understand the lessons. It is true he does ramble but if you can stick with his rambles and stories then you'll be fine, some of his examples are on the test.

This class is hard. He does talk fast and even though you are not required to show up, the exam essay questions are from in class discussion and activity. He is very intelligent and has difficulty expressing the point he is trying to make. Exams are not so bad but you have to go to class to pass this class.
