I loved having Dr. Hedrick as a teacher. He can seem kind of like a hard@ss when he grades your papers, but he's always really good at giving an honest explanation of his grades... and he's fair. AND... he's not afraid to tell you what he thinks and then asks your opinion without judging. I would definately recomment taking him!

Hedrick does a great job teaching this class. This class takes a historical/sociological look at the New Testament. Hedrick challenges you to keep an open mind and encourages discussion in class. Quizzes are pretty easy if you do the reading. Tests can be difficult if you don't take time to study.

He is terrible is class is so long and the reading assignments he gives us is ridiculous. Plus the test are half essay and half multiple choice with little or no extra credit. I would say never take this guy.

Lots of reading in this class. Tests are easy if you go to class and take notes. He gives you an outline for the tests. He likes to make you think. A good class for religion majors or people who grew up in the church, already knowing some about the bible.

Class isn't too bad as long as you take notes and study for the tests, although the tests can be difficult. Lots and lots of notes! Can get boring if not totally interested in New testament History.

Well, to respond to the first comment on Hedrick, he's been married to the same woman for 50 years. Now as to his class, it's very challeging and very good! You'll learn a lot if you take his classes. Although he's retiring at the end of this semester he still intends to teach part time.

He is a very good teacher, but he is sort of a heretic. He bashes on the Bible a lot and at the beginning of class, he tells you that he is not moral at all, that he has been married many times. Im not faulting him for this, but keep it to yourself. He grades hard, but he is good at explaining.

Not a bible study, kids! christians should hold their tongues sometimes and remember this is intended to be a critical study. never forces his own opinion onto you, simply makes you think. gives great test review outside of regular class time. very organized and very helpful.

I really like Hedrick! There are alot of notes in his class and you have to study to pass. My advice: Go to class and do your work. You will be fine in this class. Don't do it if you are going to be lazy! He is a great guy!

I took his REL 102, REL 321, REL 262, plus upper senior courses! He's awesome! Great handle on material; very compassionate and nice professor. The insights into the Biblical world are enlightening. Very balanced in history, linguistics, and theology.

This is my hardest class by far. I thought it would be somewhat like a "bible study" over the New Testament, but instead it is ALL about the history of it. Hedrick is a very smart man and knows his stuff, bit he is way over my head when he lec

He's very hard. I do not suggest taking him for this course unless you are a religion major. He's not a christian like one might think. Very heretical views. Likes to stir up trouble in class
