Took him for Chem 125 and 126 one summer. I was working full time so I couldn't do all the homework - made an attempt. Anyways, I had a B+/A- test average and he gave me a C because I didn't do all my homework. When I confronted him on this and my test scores, he didn't even care. Real ****. I wouldn't recommend him.

Took both semesters of Freshman Chem from this guy. I don't understand some of the comments here - he was a wonderful professor, I wound up majoring ChE because of him. Loved his class, great teacher.

The Chem dept. needs to lighten up. Getzin really knows his stuff, I'll give him that. But don't expect any favors or help from him. doesn't care if you fail. I guess if you dedicate all your time to chem you'll do good but for the average student (that will never use chemistry) this is another nightmare. 2nd exam avg = 28%

Easy class as long as you have all the study group questions and past exams. (memorize them they're almost exactly the same) Final is a killer so study. Attendance is imp so if you don't go to lectures make sure someone always signs you in.

Cool experiments, but he is pompous arrogant sphincter. This guy reads the NY times and loves their liberal fodder; he then tries to impress it upon his students. Take him if you like that kind of stuff.

Easy to understand being that he speaks ENGLISH. Good guy, funny sometimes. Stuff he teaches is clear, but usually most of it isnt on the exams. Rambles alot about the history of chemistry. Exams arent bad, actual chem problems are easy but he throws in questions on the history. Nice curve tho. Easy B.

Not horrible, but I wouldn't recommend taking a class that he teaches. Lectures are pretty pointless, since what we learned in lecture was not the material that was on the exams.

Lectures were boring. He was kinda allright on lectures but in recitation he helped out a lot. The curve was awesome...got 40's on commons and 70 on final and got a C. Homeworks..as long as you do them, you get a 100 which help toward final grade.

Arrogance shows through during lectures... once implied students are "dumb"... is a good instructor though, as his group study problems will be the same problems on tests... History anecdotes are slightly amusing.

Good professor. Can get a "A" easily if you are willing the do the homework. Common exams are easy since most questions are based on the previous exams (in my case, i got over 90 for all three common).
