Comment:

Got him for materials&statics. Engineering can be difficult but he makes his exams extremely predictable. They won't be 100% like example exams online, but you can fine tune your studying for each exam without worrying about the entirety of the study material. Regardless, if you get an A, it will be because you worked your butt off for it.

Comment:

Great guy. This easily became one of my favorite classes so far. Heckelman really knows his stuff. Sometimes he uses jargon and you're trying to remember what all of it means. test were hard, but if you study and read the textbook, you'll pass. Labs were fun but time consuming, so stay on top of them.

Comment:

Donny is the man. Chill and funny, Heckelman was by far my favorite engineering professor. Statics had no homework, and attendance wasn't mandatory, but his lectures are very useful. His tests are the bulk of the grade but they are very similar to his practice tests.

Very respectable guy, teaches by example. Tests are way too hard for the time allotted, no extra time given like he used to. Grading? Sometimes he throws points in, but other times he takes all credit away for a small mistake. First textbook is useless, second one by Philpot is essential.

Easily the best teacher at HVCC. This guy is the nicest person in the world and will do ANYTHING to help you understand the material. Do the practice tests and you'll do fine on the test. Knows his stuff and is just a really nice guy in general.

Very boring in lecture, not so in labs. He is very strict grading labs, but doesn't take off much for simple mistakes. His tests are hard (class average of 75) and he doesn't give out any grades but the labs and tests. If you can stay awake, pay attention in lectures and study a lot harder than you might think you need to, you should do well.

Fantastic Teacher!!!!!! Took him for 6 classes, either got an A or B, and i played games durring the classes! Thats how good a teacher he really is! Always offers for help, and makes sure everyone knows whats going on!

Great Guy Great, Teacher, So good at what he does most of the time he does it with his eyes closed. LITERALLY lectures with his eyes closed!!
