Best language professor at Iona College. Would highly recommend. Just listen in class and you should have no problem getting an A.

This was the worst class I have ever taken. He speaks very low and he only teaches orally and then gives weekly written quizzes where spelling counts, however doesn't teach us any spelling, only through speaking. The class gets so boring and I tried very hard and still ended up failing the weekly quizzes, had to drop the class. Do not recommend him

Not the best professor and unfortunate because he's the only professor that teaches French. It is hard to learn because he does not write on the board, doesn't teach you how to spell anything. You pretty much have to figure the course out on your own. Do well on his quizzes, and do the lab packets, you just might pass.

This has been my worst experience in the entire history of my graduate classes. He has no idea how to teach and is beyond boring. The only thing positive is that practically everyone gets an A.

The worst Prof. I ever had. He's nice but don't take his class if you want to learn. Clear as mud, gets confused easily. Mumbles a lot and never writes on the Board. His grading system makes no sense. My sister had him in 2005 and she said he was bad even back then. Don't take him Run!!!!!

If you're actually trying to learn the subject, don't take him. But if you need to take the required course, he's good in that as long as you participate and don't flunk the majority of his weekly quizzes, he WILL pass you.

super nice man, means well and is very into the language and culture. gives a quiz every friday, he speaks low so sit in the front of the class. he's older so sometimes the class gets boring, but he always tells cute jokes that make you laugh. if you pay attention you'll get an A, super easy grader. one of the nicest, genuine professors at Iona.

Maybe he was just a bad Spanish teacher and better with other languages, but I honestly hated his class. He wrote nothing on the board in class and would give oral quizzes, but took points off for spelling in an intro class. Plus, he was extremely dry and often difficult to understand.

Dr. Malanga is most definitely the sweetest and best professor at Iona College. If you have the opportunity to take him, please do. He places a big emphasis on pronunciation and really just wants you to succeed. There is a short quiz every Friday which helps boost your grade. The class is an easy A and his company makes it that much better.

If you have the opportunity to take Professor Malanga for your 2 required language courses, then do it! He's the best language professor in the department. Quiz every Friday, midterm exam and the Final is usually a presentation. You will have a great time in class and will come out of the class actually knowing the language.

Very sweet man who really wants everyone to take part in the class. He is more interested in you learning to speak the language correctly than he is in grading you. My only complaint is that he speaks very low sometimes and can be difficult to hear (so sit near the front).
