I personally loved having Hajjar as a prof. She was extremely caring and accommodating when a student in our class passed away, even cancelling the in class writing assignment that was scheduled. Her emphasis in Sociology is on torture so those lectures are especially entertaining because she is very opinionated. Overall pretty easy A.

Hajjar is very lively and her lectures are interesting. Attendance is mandatory because she uses iClicker points and participation in section is a big part of the grade. The material and tests are really easy.

One of the easiest classes ive ever taken. If youve ever thought about social equity in your life you can easily get an A. Shes a sweet lecturer with a nice speaking style and lots of anecdotal stories. The only reason attendance is mandatory is for iclicker points, otherwise i slept through the class

An amazing professor; truly knows the information and really makes her students understand the society in a different way. A lot of reading material, but not super difficult to grasp. It's an iClicker class making lecture mandatory, but you actually do need to go to fully understand the class.

Lisa Hajjar is a great Soc1 professor! The assigned readings were reasonable and her lectures were easy to follow. She's very educated and passionate about this subject and it really shows in her talks about various subjects. Also, a very nice grader, mostly everyone got A's on the midterm.

Hajjar is great, she's so passionate about what she does and you can really tell from her enthusiasm during class. She's very knowledgable and funny. The class is fairly easy which makes it easier to absorb the information she's telling you because you don't have to stress about mere memorization just to pass the tests. I highly recommend Hajjar!

She gave way too many readings in this class for my liking, and had a quiz every week. She's very knowledgable but her lectures are really hard to keep up with. It all makes sense in her head I'm guessing but she rambles and doesn't explain the material well.

Please do not make your life miserable by taking her. She will make you not like Sociology. Tough grader (often ridicules your work) and finds student's questions as a burden to her lecture. PLEASE AVOID

DO NOT TAKE !!! Lectures are all over the place and make taking notes extremely difficult. Students questions were not answered clearly and she made then seem like an inconvenience to her. The course wasn't bad but I strongly suggest taking it with a different professor. 1midterm, final, quiz every week, 2 papers and lots of reading.

She is REALLY passionate about what she teaches, and that helps make/keep you interested. I set up an honors contract with her (which I got an A+ in the class for doing) and all I had to do was watch 2 movies on any topic I wanted and write a short paper. Good class.

She is really passionate and loves sharing her knowledge. All her powerpoints are online and her tests come straight from the power points. Tests are always 4 key terms and 1 long essay. Straightforward, your grade will be based on your TA, so just hope you get a nice one that doesn't nit pick at every answer.

Amazing teacher! Talks very fast but explains everything fully. Such enthusiasm you have no choice but to get involved and enjoy her topics. "pop" quizzes once a week or so, and she puts the notes online.

Wonderful professor!!! I really enjoyed the lectures and wanted to come hear her speak. You MUST do the readings for the quizzes or you will fail them, but many of the readings have shorter versions on Wikipedia (very helpful if you run out of time). Having an easier TA is completely necessary: Linthi****is the best.

She makes lectures really interesting, I was pleased with her teaching style. Definitely know the readings like the back of your hand or else u won't do too well on the midterm or final. Your TA has a significant influence on your grade, I was lucky to get Linthicum. Do the EC that she offers, it's easy and it helps your grade!

She is very enthusiastic about the subject, which makes it all the more interesting. It's a fun and interesting subject (LAWSO 1) and she is a really great teacher. Her powerpoints and lectures are really clear and if you go to all the lectures you can pretty much pass the class. But do the reading or you'll fail the quizzes!
