Took abnormal psych twice. Passed with a B, surprisingly. you must put all of your time into learning the material. Her exams consist of little details from the chapters so study literally everything. she is a little intimidating. if you haven't taken abnormal yet and have to, all I have to say is prepare yourself. i also think she needs retire

In my opinion, Dr. Hodge is a wonderful professor. Her class is challenging and reading is necessary, but it does make a difference if you complete the readings. She is very compassionate and has a lot of knowledge about the subject. She gave me new insights that I never had before. She is wonderful. I would absolutely recommend her.

When I took this professor, I was inspired and loved psychology even more because It helped me see this subject in a different light. Her tests are pretty hard at first, but she is very clear on what she expects from you which is not really too much. I didn't even have a final in her class and I only had to do a 3 page essay and worked hard for a B

The class was challenging, but no where near Impossible! She expects you to read the Textbook, why pay $150 for a text your not going to use? Extremely engaging and willing to help with any issues, low tolerance for bullsh*t. Expects high level of interest from Students, would take this prof again.

I've had the pleasure of having Dr.Hodge in both Abnormal and Group Psych. This woman changed my life and the way i see mental health. She is very compassionate, intelligent, & helpful. Most people don't like her because she expects a lot from her students and wants us to succeed. Once you get to know her you appreciate her toughness. Take her!

She is really nice and caring once you show that you're interested in learning the material she teaches. First of all, whoever takes her class should be interesting because its such a major part of psychology. She may be tough only because she wants you to learn the material.show up in her class for the videos because they're important for tests

HORRIBLE PROF! no textbook, and just states her opinions. If you dont agree, then you dont belong there. She wasnt openminded when I made comments. She warns you about her tests but I was not prepared for this shenengians! Would love this class if she actually taught something rather then mumbling her own opinions. Not approachable.hint:hates jails

Hodge is always atleast 15 min. late for class everyday. She had her grad. assistant teach the majority of the class until he quit mid semester. She's almost impossible to hear (so sit close). YOU MUST READ!!!! It's impossible to pass if you don't. Avoid her if you can.

You can hate her all you want. She's a great teacher if you really want to learn about the criminal side of psychology. Yeah she's really hard and her tests may be a little over the top, but if you get on her good side by not being stupid, shes one of the best teachers in this school. She's only biased and mean if you give her a reason to.

Dr. Hodge is great, most people dont like her because she actually challenges you and expects alot from her students. She is very knowlegeable and her class is passable; she is also a very pleasant person. Go visit her office, read the book, and give it your all. I passed with a B, yes it was hard but it made me appreciate my education more.

In response to the comment below this, I *DID* study and I *DID* try hard yet I still got a poor grade, and so did others in my class. She is the laziest proffesor I've had history and shows you news videos and asks ridiculously specific questions about them on the exam. It's only a matter of time before she is fired/resigns. Doesn't belong here.

I think most students believe they can get a decent grade just through reading over some notes and occasionally coming to class. If you believe this, you will give her a poor rating. She does not 'hate the world', she's quite compassionate. She's just used to students slacking off, which most of them do. I got an A. I worked hard. I learned a lot.

You know, before I had the (dis)pleasure of having Dr. Hodge, I ranted and raved about how great the ESU psych department was. This professor is a fly in the ointment of the department. Worse teacher I've had in my college career. AVOID

Holy-HARD you can learn. But you have to work your A$$ off! to get a good grade. MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES!!! memorize a lot of non-important info like who killed who when. talks very softly. Should be a 400 level class.

Hodge is hard! However, if you try and study the material you'll do fine. Start the case studies right away. I did not go to her office but had a tutor and I got an A.We only had her for a short time but she was truely interesting. She know's what she is talking about and is good at teaching it.This class was one of my favorite so far!
