The professor is very nice however, the tests are extremely hard and most of the questions on the exam's do not have anything to do with the study questions that are given. If you do not answer the clicker questions correctly you will receive zero points.The final exam is accumulative and even worse, only 40% is based off the previous exams.

Witter is a good and knowledgeable professor BUT class will probably be boring if you're not a science major. I HIGHLY recommend not making this class the first of the day because you will be tempted to sleep in and miss easy class assignments. As a science LER, it's probably one of the least painful of the choicess, so if you HAVE TO take it, do.

Prof. Witter is very excited about what she teaches. Although her lectures are online, going to class not only clarifies definitions, but she also gives great examples that helps you remember the concepts. Her in-class activities are easy points and their concepts are usually repeated on exams. She was knowledgeable and fun.

You didn't necessarily have to go to class - especially since she posted her notes on her webpage - but she would randomly hand out in class assignment that counted towards our grade and they were really easy. Tests weren't too bad and were all multiple choice. Class was boring, but I always brought something extra to do.

Not a terribly exciting class, but pretty easy. She's really passionate and cares about how her students do. It's pretty easy to pass: Show up, read the online notes, study a little for the exam, do the in-class activities. You can easily get an A or B without too much effort.

Second easiest class I ever took. She gives a ton of extra credit and the curve was ridiculous, 77% was an A. If you get C's, D's and F's in this class either, 1. You never went to class or 2. You are a complete moron. I studied maybe 25 hours for this class the whole semester including the final. Highly recommended

She loves her work. Unfortunately, most students are not into Oceanography like she is. The tests are hard but she can curve a test like a major league pitcher. The class itself was very boring. Hard to stay awake in her class. She is a very nice person who should stick to exploration of the ocean.

The lectures are boring and her voice was kind of annoying. She posts her notes online and curves the tests a lot. Go to the study group...the material is better explained there. Her tests are kind of hard.

Oceanography was the biggest mistake of my life- take the seven ideas class!! She sounds like she's on the verge of a breakdown and the class is so boring. Lots of dumb jokes thats only funny to herself also. The only thing is that she grades on a curve which is very helpful because my two F's were C's

Class was easy but she was not good, her teaching ability was not poor, but her voice sounded as if she was going to break down crying at any moment, which took away from lecture. Just attend class and go over the study material on the net and your fine.
