Infuriating class. Brilliant man; horrendous teacher. The concepts are actually very interesting - it's just his delivery. He speeds through the lecture using almost pure technical jargon, unable to communicate his ideas to undergrads. 60% of your grade is based on ten very short, difficult quizzes. Unforgiving marker Avoid this class if possible.

Worst prof I have ever had. Biology elitist and a complete hypocrite; says he doesn't want you to memorize and regurgitate the textbook, then quizzes you for the exact terminology and phrasing. Graphs and formulas do not enhance the learning. I'm normally a grade A student but his class was first I have ever had to drop. Stay away from this prof.

Great Professor and great teacher. Takes genuine interest that student learn the material and understand the concepts. Course is tough- it needs to be. If you really want to learn about how the processes work in nature then you have to take this course. It will make you wiser. This course will have a lifelong effect on how you see things in nature

Great class if you're interested in the topic. It's not a memorization course like much of biology, rather its all advanced concepts and ideas that will stretch your mind. So it sucks if you aren't interested in evolution/ecology, but its excellent if you are.

Terrible prof. Very out-of-date, will not let us record his lectures and will not send out his notes. Rambles on about useless graphs and math that are uninteresting and barely enhance the curriculum.His quizzes are trivial and often include "riddles", which should NEVER be marked questions.Thought it would be interesting, but was a disappointment

Absolutely terrible prof. Unfortunately for biology majors its mandatory course. He talks like we are researchers and provide no examples to his questions. Everything is a time limit 5-10 minutes to do a quiz, and tutorial you have 10 minutes to write a concise paragraph in which you get a 5/10 anyways.

This class was terrible. His tutorials are stupid, the T.A's talk forever and don't give you enough time to finish anything. In everything he marks he has certain points you must make, or things you say, each worth marks, and even if u make a good point if its not on his sheet, you get zero. Glad that class is over.
