Professor Cannon was my adviser 37 years ago. He told me on my first day of college I was going to flunk-out. I forged his signature to take classes for the next two years before transferring. I went on to get my BA, MA, and have a successful career in Asian affairs. An utterly useless professor, I still see students find him boring. Avoid him!!

His class is so boring, he goes off topic, and is very difficult to sit through.. HOWEVER, sit up front, talk to him, laugh at his jokes, prepare for the tests (4 per semester.. the essays are given prior to the exam so if you prep good, your good!) and you will pass with flying colors. nice guy, bad teacher.. listen to what i said and youll be ok!

Cannon is obviously a genius, but very disorganized. He rambles on and on and goes off on to every topic besides History. He has good intentions, but does not follow them through. I recommend him if you can stay up through his lecture. Sit up front, make eye contact, talk to the guy, study for your occasional quiz and you will be FINE.

If you want an effortless class, this is the one. He DOES NOT teach anything. There is no book, no class structure. I did not learn anything about history. It hurt me to pay for this class. Prof Cannon talked about everything but the subject. To remain awake, the students were either passing ea other notes, texting or on their laptops. Don't do it

Cannon is a complicated professor, but he is one of the best. He rarely requires any HW, but does give quizzes once in a while. His classes are long and tedious, but there is no teacher who will be as easy as Cannon when it comes to help or paper extensions. If he sees that you care about his class, everything else will be easy.
