He takes forever to mark things and with a lot of evaluations in this course it gets annoying. He is also not afraid to call people out in front of the class which is embarrassing and if you don't know the answer he'll make you feel like an idiot. Take it for an easy mark though

He was a pretty cocky guy but it was somewhat interesting. Stopped going to class after the first month and still got an A. Very easy. As long as you do your learning journals and assignments, the rest is just common sense. Easy A with Garland.

Comment:

Professor was a fair marker. Requires constant work throughout semester, but not overly challenging. Do the learning journal the best you can, doing all entries throughout the semester, and you will be fine. Also, exams take up a minimal amount of marks, and you practice what you need to in the learning journals, therefore studying is not critical.

I only had John Garland for a short period of time and had to drop out of this class because he made me feel like I was stupid.Hes open minded and if anyone has a soft heart avoid him

The only work in this course is online journals (there's lots), and a few assignments. The midterm and final is fairly straight forward. Just know your notes which are posted online and examples of them. Dr. Garland is unorganized and annoying. He got crazy hair too. Basically, if you can do well on journals, and study for the tests, easy A.

I am still currently in this class. So far it is a bit of work. I already have had 12 out of 26 Journals and 3 other assignments. But it is easy...my lowest mark has been 90. I have the midterm coming up so I will rate him again at the end of the year. Right now he is ok.

The class is pretty dry, but the material is useful. I've found some of it quite helpful myself. But Garland's a pretty dry man. The midterm was too long to finish in an hour, the learning journals are rediculous (sometimes 4 to do within a 3 day period), need i say more? not bad, but still very dry

Garland's a dick. He's completely unorganized and tries to lecture us on how to be organized. He didn't finish the course, still testng us on it. The course has potential but garland drove it into the ground. He also made the midterm too short, admitted himself writing it was hit or miss.

Don't do UCC2020. It's hard work now. Garland is all over the place. Prepare to have no idea what mark you get because he's always sick/busy/gone and never gets your work corrected. He needs a marker. Get the other prof he's reasonable.

I didn't like the course, so my opinion may be biased... however, I did find that in his classes, he's all over the place and you have to pay extreamly close attention to get what's he's saying.
