This is an easy class if you have had a good education already. How Dr.Evarts had the stamina or the stomach to cope with what Ohio high schools turn out year after year I don't know. She seems a dragon at first but if you can cut it there's nothing she won't do for you. A saint really. First class.

Wow. This class was so hard and I felt lost for 99% of it. I relied heavily on a friend who was also taking the class to tutor me because I was struggling so much. However, I do find that I refer to the book every now and then and when it comes to correcting someone's grammar, my co-worker and fellow JOUR 133 survivor chuckle to ourselves.

Oh my goodness - this woman is INSANE! I had to go to the tutor just to survive. She doesn't teach, just gives you the book she wrote and expects you to either already know it or learn how to do it on your own. I will NEVER take another class from her.

At first I was scared when i found out i had Dr. Evarts, but gradually as the class progressed I realized she really just wants to help us become better writers. I spent almost six hours at her houe one day, and she the nicest lady. I recommend her if you are willing to work, and if you can't handle her then you can't handle the real world.

Dru Evarts is insane. INSANE. She can't convey material to anyone less than a supergenius and she makes things so difficult for no reason. If you just scheduled and you see "Evarts" anywhere on it, JUST KILL YOURSELF AND GET IT OVER WITH!!! Or drop the class.

She's so crazy! She's totally senile. She doesn't know where she is or who she is, I swear. She can't hear anything and she just screams HOLLER HOLLER HOLLER at people because she's deaf. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

The woman has been in journalism for over 40 years. She works in Washington part of the year, can barely walk, holds individual conferences at her house, and gives extra theater tickets to students. Anyone annoyed that a top-tier journalism school would require incoming freshmen to take a rigorous grammar course must be joking.

Tough teacher, but very fair. I learned an amazing amount from this class. Even though I thought she was a scary teacher, it was still one of the best classes I ever took. If you really want to learn your grammar, take her course!
