Worst professor I have ever had at Douglas college. Honest truth. Not helpful in anyway, very monotone and basically reads off his slides rather than teaching the material to his class. Is very rude to his students (had a bad experience) and does not care for their well doing. Do not take Geo-1100 with him. That is all!!!

He has very strict administrative rules, like not being able to enter class if you are late (which no one followed). He got angry when people did not follow test instructions exactly (he said "when I ask you to circle the question, you circle the DAMN QUESTION!"). However, if you read the textbook you will do fine on the tests. It can be an easy A.

This man right here will grade you based on 3 tests which are all worth 30 percent and if you fail 2, well then youre SOL. He is helpful in no way at all when asked any questions, and he doesnt supply a hard copy of the text book in the bookstore, only the online version which for a lot of people was not even accessible since the link is so old.

very difficult prof to have. lectures were unclear and hard to follow, strict about recording lectures and using tech. grade was 95% tests and 5% participation (attendance). exam questions were taken straight from the review package in the syllabus. study hard and memorize his definitions, and you'll pass.

Thought GEOG 1100 would be easy since I took geography in high school. Tests are unexpectedly long and hard. He doesn't teach everything during lecture, so you have to basically teach yourself. Content is interesting but he makes it boring and explains with over complicated words. CLASS AVERAGE is 55%. Take this with another prof if possible.

He's not bad when it comes to lectures. But he expects you to know the textbook word by word, diagram by diagram. Which is crazy. If you're late 2 minutes be doesn't let you in until after the break. I don't pay thousands of dollars to have the door closed on me. Would never take his class again. Makes the course harder than it should be.

Earl is a knowledgeable person, but it is hard to stay interested during his classes. Lectures are long and not extremely engaging. You have to really pay attention to the textbook, even the diagrams that seem unimportant as they will be on the test. He seems as if he knows a majority of people aren't passionate about his class and it shows.

Would not recommend. Hes a very knowledgeable guy but is horrible at actually teaching students. Get ready to read the entire textbook and memorize every diagram. He also tests you on things he doesnt even go over. Goodluck

Extremely tough marker, and gives little explanation about criteria for projects and assignments. Expects students to memorize the textbook for exams, and I mean EVERY diagram. To top it all off, his laugh will make you want to bring earplugs and you will hear him say the word "caveat" about once every 15. Good Luck!

He's got a raspy voice, but he cares about what he's teaching so classes are okay. It's an intense course; doable but a lot of reading and memorization. Make sure you pay attention to lectures and films.

He hates lateness. He goes hella fast through lecture slides, it's impossible to keep up and he doesn't post them all. He goes on tangents about traveling the province and other geography courses instead of this one all the time, rushes through the stuff that's actually important to this course and de-emphasizes it so you can't answer the questions

Though Earl is clearly knowledgeable and has very informative lectures, I would not take him again: tough marker and tougher classroom policies. You cannot enter the classroom if you are 2 mins late and you'll have to wait til the break (1hr later). He also changes slides quickly and does not upload all of his lecture slides. Would not recommend.

First things first: be prepared to read the whole textbook. I'm not a strong reader so I struggled with that (I have ADHD so focusing too long on reading is almost impossible) but GO TO CLASS! His lectures are informative, interesting, and clear. Earl is super knowledgeable and really knows his stuff, and is a kind person! Good class!

Earl Noah is a great professor, very friendly and approachable. Tips: read the chapter before the class and try to answer the questions he provides you with, ask him questions you didn't find the answers to, take lecture notes, as not all of the slides are posted on the blackboard, be systematic&study! You'll be rewarded for your efforts.

Notes are very long; after each slide he would ask if there are questions but usually there are not and the way he looks at us is scary. Gets made if you are late. The movies he shows does not relate to the lecture. He does not explain everything in class; gets you to read the book, page by page. Focuses on dates & numbers. Avoid him if you can!!

My advice to all of you guys don't take class with Earl Noah. He doesn't care about students to succeed. He has his own stupid rules where they all have negative effects on your class mark. Please don't take class with him!

His lectures would be helpful if you were actually listening and not trying to copy down all his slides as he doesn't post them online. I once asked for help after school but he refused to answer because I apparently didn't ask when he asked for questions in class. Read the textbook, but study mostly his notes for exams. Do the practice questions.

I took this class for fun out of interest. Worst mistake I've made for choosing a course. He was inconsistent with classroom rules, leaving me and other students locked out of lectures while some days he allowed students to waltz in late. OBVIOUSLY does not care about his students succeeding. Avoid taking any class with this professor.

Avoid taking any class with Earl. Out of my 2 years at the college this is the worst experience I have had with a professor. Lectures are long and uninteresting, even though the course generally is. Earl doesn't provide extra help and show little to no interest in the success of his students. Class with him is just an overall negative experience.
