My favorite professor, hands down. He takes note of those who are there to learn and those who are there for the grade. If he likes you, he'll go out of his way to help you succeed in college and out of college. Informative lectures punctuated by hilarious personal stories. Tilford keeps history fun and relevant.

I'm a biology major, but I loved taking his classes better than my own major classes! He is hard but that's because he WANTS you to understand thoroughly. He's funny as all get out too. Ask him about Oog and Moog or Southern Culture.

Tilford is an amazing professor, very funny and well worth attending class for. Your hand will hurt at the end of each class from the speed at which you must take notes but it's well worth it. (Do not take if you absolutely hate history, foreign policy or the military)

very fast talker, does not cover things clearly but acts as if its a race to finish the class and he crams so much into a class period, if you miss one thing and ask a question he'll make you feel like an idiot for asking. i dislike this professor very much...very disapointing to have him as my HUMA prof.

he's very passionate about what he teaches, and his military background makes for great asides. tests are fair, and if you read it will definitely help. he grades on grammar on the paper, so make sure you proof multiple times. if you're into history, this is the guy to take. I looked forward to every class and wish I had him this semester again =)

First and foremost, Tilford is a factual military historian. If you are looking for anything else, you will be greatly disappointed. If not, you will enjoy him. Tilford knows his stuff, and works harder than anyone here (except maybe Bibza). He may not be a true academic, but he serves as a breath of fresh air amongst the stale ivory tower air.

Tilford was entertaining and clear in his teaching. His quizzes and tests were all dates and dead people. He is a major stickler for grammar on the paper. Can make you feel dumb at times when you ask him questions. Talks fast, so you better take notes quickly.

Great guy who knows quite literally everything about history, it seems. Especially military. If you like military history and can memorize material half decently take his class. He is worth it. My suggestion for note taking in his class is get old pc notes and just add to them as you go along. If you like Auburn stay away. The Tide are his focus.

Knows a lot of stuff about Russian/Soviet history. Very interesting class. Has many good anecdotes. BTW, if you want to hear a funny story, ask him why the Soviet air force never flew on Monday.

He knows what he's talking about, has many anecdotes, and occassionaly a funny story (one was called "Skgaya Imini Og I Moog"). Yet, he talks very fast, so look out...it's possible to miss entire concepts with how fast he goes.
