Comment:

Extremely difficult to understand, explains concepts poorly, and classes are long and boring. He told our class that "Finance class with him is easy", let me tell you he makes it way more difficult then it has to be. I'm not sure how this guy got hired as a prof but he was one of the worst I've ever had, no doubt.

DO NOT take a course with this professor! He belittles his students and tells them how stupid they are. He says he is willing to help but he is not willing to re-weigh exams or assignments to benefit students . He is very egotistical and blames the students for poor marks even though he cannot communicate well.

Comment:

His class felt like it was devised by him and not an extension of a textbook which I really enjoyed. If you want to learn the life skill of investing, he really knows how to help make you understand. I feel the class is almost essential for anyone concentrating in finance. Some lectures were dry but the information was necessary for understanding.

Comment:

No tests or final. Mark is based solely on several chapter summaries of "the intelligent investor", summaries of case studies, and three assignments. He makes the subject matter very clear and is approachable if you have an issue. He wants you to succeed, but you also need to have the desire to succeed. By far one of the best profs I've had at UNB.

This professor knows what he is talking about. His value investing class is one of the most important practical courses in the business faculty. Gives you 100% confidence to make profitable investment decisions. The knowledge learned in this class will make you millions if implemented properly, and you will learn it no wheres else. 100% recommend

Many questions on quizzes were not in the textbook. The first time I noticed, he told me he would fix my score, but he didn't. Many chapters had questions that with the same problem. Several questions were word to word taken from other quizzes online so I just looked up the answers. This course has not been updated in years.

This is a HARD course. Otouteye is not a super helpful prof but will cover all of the material and tests VERY fairly. His personal skills are lacking but if you go to class and do the worksheets, that is EXACTLY what is on the midterm and final. Lots of people dont do well in this class and blame the prof, the class is hard and requires more effort

I actually enjoyed this class and got a good mark! The concepts aren't the easiest but if you put time in, it wasn't so bad. He helped me to understand a lot. I took this course with Shiller before and it was the worst experience of my life and had to drop it. P.s. Don't try cheating in this class!!

I had him for an online course and he was decent but for principals of finance he was absolutly terrible! I'm not a stupid student by far, he told us to do the problems he assigned us 3 times and we would be fine on the midterm, i did them all 4 times and understood them and got a 37 on the midterm, i wasn't long dropping the class

Awful prof. If you didn't know the answer to his questions then he would make you feel dumb. He wasn't good at explaining concepts and was difficult to understand at times. He didn't seem to care at all about students grades. Definitely don't recommend him to anyone.

He is very strange this year, I don't know why he changed a lot. He didn't give us the old exams, and he said he was too lazy to mark our minor summries. Half of the class droped after midterm. And the final was horrible difficult, I think it is the most difficult one for years. I am really worried about if I could pass it!

Could not understand the slightest. When I came to him with questions I found his answers were more useless then s graphic calculator in a music class. Would not recommend the slightest unless your thing is getting F's and grasping no knowledge at all. If your looking to lower your GPA he is the prof for you.

BRUTAL PROF! I am a smart student, I have never EVER had a prof make a course so hard! After our midterm with a class average of %40 50 people dropped out of 3 sections! 50 people! This brought the class average up but left many of us who were above class average on the midterm at the bottom of the class. He refused to scale it, calling us idiots!

Terrible professor, had heard he was good but this year he is rude, not helpful, full of himself and truly out to make everyone's life hard. Apparently he just got acting assistant dean so that explains the full of himself He definitely has the god-complex going on. Avoid taking Principles of finance with him.

Great prof he for sure knows his stuff and if you go see him in his office he is more than willing to help. He also makes it a point to know each student by their name. I have had many courses with Otuteye and plan on taking more in the future. A+ Prof

At first, I could not understand him, could not read his writing, and he gave no powerpoint slides. He also does not give a formula sheet for the tests. It is a completely different class that Rashid's. He does give partial marks so if you study, you can get a decent mark in the class.
