Horwege himself is quite nice and encouraging. I placed into this class as a first year, and it was really beyond my knowledge, which is why the class itself was difficult for me personally, as it's the history of Germany, in German. He speaks German pretty much the entire time. And good luck trying to get him to cancel class. His mini-presentations and open book tests made it possible for me to (somehow) get an A and complete my language Gen Ed my first semester of college.

Great teacher, but if you don't study outside of class you're screwed. All he does is speak German in class, so if you can't learn by osmosis its pretty hard!

Herr Horwege is my favorite professor of all time. He's not only my teacher, he's truely my friend. He cares about his students, has a great sense of humor, and is generally a nice guy. I hated German before having him as a professor, he made me love it!
