Lecture heavy but open to suggestions. He is the liaison for student athletes and understands if you are late to class due to practice (I had practice 6-8 am and his class was an 8 am). He can be a tough grader, but it's all constructive criticism that is helpful.

Dr. Arke is an awesome guy. Slightly dorky and lectures can be a little bland, but knows his stuff and wants you to succeed. Not the easiest grader, but if you do the work it really isn't hard to get an A or A-. Definitely would take again, he's open to criticism and does his best to teach in the most effective way possible.

He's a great professor, and he's a wonderful man. Dr. Arke's approval doesn't come easy, and his temper is quick- usually understandable. Goes above and beyond to defend student media and mentor. Awkwardly hysterical and fairly entertaining lecturer. Very intelligent, represents all view points- devil's advocate. Get to know Dr. Arke. He's a great.

Dr. Arke can come across boring or a little dry, but give him a chance. The more you get to know him, the more you love him. He's not the easiest grader, but in order to get a good grade, you need to know the information and earn it. He is willing to meet with students and help them out. He's let me into courses and has been a great guide. love him

Dr. Arke is an excellent communications professor. He is a fair grader and his test and assignments are not too easy but not too difficult. If you listen in class, hand in work on time (diligently completed), and do what your supposed to do, you will not have any problems. He is willing to help you and makes the class interesting most of the time.

He is very helpful in answering all of your wonders and questions. For the clas, there is a research paper which is 35% of the total grade. Others are mainly tests about chapters in book and personal reason. He is a rather tough grader because he teaches journalism so he has a high requirement for a writing. Overall, a good professor!

He is a very tough grader. His quiz questions are often very specific and irrelevant to the subject and what you need to know about it later in life. Classes consist of reading, quiz lecture, reading, quiz, lecture. No projects and application of content other than quizzes, tests and a research paper.

While monotonous, Arke is a very nice professor, and he is very knowledgeable about his subject- he's willing to help and clarify as much as you need and he's very fair with grading- is not afraid to be corrected either if he makes a mistake. Has available office hours for extra assistance. I would recommend taking him for any class :)

Prof Arke is very very nice. His lectures are very long and dry and hard to stay awake in but he is fair and cares about his students. Try not to take a Tuesday-Thursday class with him because it's long and incredibly boring. Overall, though, he gives an easy A if you show up and can take tests on common sense.

Nice prof! Really cares about incorporating student feedback in to his classes! Only qualm was, after rating my rough drafts A and B+, he tore apart my final paper, giving it a C, and bringing up issues he never addressed in the drafts. Still pulled out an A in the class though, and he is a very nice man.

I enjoy professor Arke. He really tries to get feedback from students and incorporate what we want to learn in the classroom. The reviewers here who bash him obviously failed to put any effort at all into their work in his class, as a result they get bad grades, and come on here to complain about it. You get out what you put in.

Dr. Arke was a fabulous professor. This class is required for all Communication majors, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It quickly became a really great class experience. I highly recommend Dr. Arke to anyone needing the class or just wanting more knowledge about the mass media system. He takes a personal interest in students: love him!
