Comment:
Dr. Parish's class very easy for students who just learn the reactions from the chapters that the tests are on. Personally, I went to most SI session's and learned most of the underlying concepts that he skips during lecture. Parish gives you the opportunity to perform well on every exam by giving plenty of bonus. Would suggest taking his class.

Comment:
Dr. Parish is a terrible lecturer and coming to class is pretty much useless. I only did well because I went to all of the SI sessions and read the textbook. The tests are pretty simple for what they are, but that means you're screwed for the common final. The good news is, Dr. Parish is retiring after next semester.

His tests are easy and straight out of the textbook but he doesn't prepare you at all for the common final. I read the text before the lectures and went to SI regularly and i made A's on every test and he gave so much extra credit I could fail the final and get a B. If you only have to take chem 1 then take him but be prepared to learn nothing.

Dr. Parish is very easy; however, you must go to class, as he does not know how to use a computer--gives all information by word of mouth. He gives 20 extra credit points on each exam to raise the class average to a 75%. He is funny, go meet him. Take him if you are not trying to go to graduate or professional school.

I don't understand how you can't get an A in this class. Tests have so much bonus added in that I made over a 100 on two of the three exams. That being said, I feel like I've learned little to nothing because we skipped half of the material in the book.

I didn't even buy the textbook for this class. Even though his lectures are boring and you can't understand him, just take pictures of his PowerPoint slides. Then go home and write those notes down later. He only makes his tests based on what he shows us in class. Tests are easy, and I've never made below a 96.

Meh. Couldn't understand his lectures, and had to teach myself the material. Tests were easy, exactly like his old exams. Read the book to teach yourself and make friends with people who have old exams, this is critical. The SI leader taught me more the night before the final than Parish taught me the entire semester. Take him if you need an easy A

Attended SI instead of lecture. Made over 100 on every test. Dr. Parish is not clear on what will be on exams, but they're easy enough you shouldn't complain. Take him for organic if you can!!

Parish is so easy. I study his old exams the night before the test and make a 98. Tests are 120 points, but only out of 100, so you automatically have 20 bonus points. He changed up the third exam and no one knew anything on it. He scales because he likes his avg above a 75. Definitely take for ochem if you're not taking the MCAT.

He changed his grading policy this year so the only thing that you were graded off of was your test grade. He lectures are off a projector, his notes are only definitions- I wouldn't even bother going to class. Just take your own notes out of the text book and study his old exams. He's not helpful and actually quite rude. I would not recommend

His lectures are so long and boring, but his tests are extremely easy. You don't really learn any of the math stuff from him, so make sure you do your ALEKS, that's what helped me on his tests. I didn't really use the book that much but I would suggest getting it because it helped me cram for tests.

Dr. Parish is a nice guy but not the best teacher. His class is extremely easy though. All tests are multiple choice and you can make over a 100 without ever opening your textbook. He doesn't prepare you for the final though. I did fine because I studied and did my Aleks, which counts as bonus. If you don't need Chem 2, take him for an easy A!

I quit going after midterms because I could read a chapter a week from the book and do the Aleks sections for better performance than the 3 hours a week I was sinking going through the torture of listening to him say "okay" twice a minute and mumbling through important content. Still, he didn't even begin to prepare anyone for the final.

He wasn't terrible. He definitely wants you to succeed, but doesn't really care at the same time. He curves all his tests to make sure its a 75% average or higher. If you learn best by reading the textbook, you'll be fine. ALEKS is extra credit, do it. Sit in the front, he's very quiet and doesn't always reach the back.

If you go to class, take the notes, and do the Aleks you can get an A on every test. He isn't trying to trick you with questions or anything, most are pretty simple. His lectures are boring but just write down what he says and you're fine.

DO NOT TAKE IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION. The class seems easy at first but he is very but he is very unclean about what will actually need to be known on the tests, he is hard of hearing so dont expect to be able to ask questions, and a good grade is harder to come by than it seems.

His notes are very straight foward but due to "problems in the past" he has made tests very difficult. He does however give bonus on tests. He does not elaborate or explain concepts well and expects you to learn on your own time.

Dr. Parish is just as easy as every one says he is. Probably one of the easiest classes I've taken at Auburn. If you study the notes the night before, you can easily get over a 100 (since every test is out of 120). If you are studying for the MCAT, though, I highly suggest you study the book intensely as the class moves along.

Took him for Organic 2, was very easy, he gives you 20 bonus points on every test. Make sure you know all the reactions. He also lets you drop your lowest test grade. If you study you will get an A.
