She's boring. Go to class anyway and participate your grade will benefit from it. She assigned 4 papers the 3rd one required the most time. Did all my papers the night before and received B/Cs. DO NOT TAKE: She is very nice, extremely nice! She is a tough grader! She is unclear of what she really wants on papers and all we do is analize a million poems/stories and she expects us to write 2 papers that she grades hard when there's no guidance whatsoever on the papers, 2 MAJOR grades in the class. Plus she is extremely boring!

She is a very sweet lady, but she will not hesitate to tell you al that is wrong with your paper. With that being said, she tells you exactly what and how to revise your paper so you can get an A on the final draft. Just show up for office hours and do the reading and you will do fine.

Mrs. Childress was a great teacher! She gives you a lot of time to write the papers and when you are up for draft workshop, she basically tells you everything that she wants to be changed so your grade will go up! She does tend to play favorites and you have to do reading notes over the book along with your paper. It's not that bad though.

She is a very sweet teacher. If you are looking for an easy teacher, it's not her. She expects you to do your best and grades your papers hard...but the papers she assigns are hard AT ALL. easiest papers to write. Just make sure you take notes when she says take notes....it really helps. Never tests or quizes..juust papers. I think I wrote 4 or 5.

She is an awful, awful teacher. It is impossible to get an A unless she likes you. I had five A's and two B's and somehow ended up with a B overall. She is supposed to be teaching an "argument" class, yet won't hear an argument that conflicts with her own opinions. She is a horrible teacher that has obvious favorites.

this teacher is horrible. Through out the class the class i participated everyday, and got four A's on my papers and only two B's i got a B in the class over all. i asked her why i got a B whenever most of my grades where As and she said that on a couple of my papers i mixed up their and there and because of that she gave me a B. she is horrible.

AWFUL teacher. I did all her work, all her draft workshops, everything and got an A on every assignment. At the end of the semester, my final grade was a B. When I asked why she said I didn't participate in class discussions and therefore didn't deserve the A I had worked so hard to get. Don't ever, EVER take her.

I really liked her. All we ever did was write essays and do peer reviews. Though you do have to take notes over the assigned chapters in ballenger which takes forever. Her husband is a preacher and she is religious so if you write about regilious things she loves it. So overall I really liked her and I want to take her for 132.

Totally loved her class! She's a wonderful teacher unless you're a total dimwit. She was pretty straightforward on what she wanted in her assignments,and the only problem i had in the class were the stupid students in the class. She does do draft workshops where everyone reads and critics your paper so don't take it if you're insecure. Great class.

You have to do a draft workshop which i think is a good idea cause it gives you a chance to fix errors that you might not've seen and get feedback the day before its due. Childress is the lamest teacher ive ever endured. She looks like she could be Einsteins dorky ass sister! She talks talks and talks and she has this annoying lisp! I cant stand listening to her voice or her lectures! She lectures past the class time and its so boring I dropped because I never went and attendence is required LAME LAME AND MORE LAME!

GPA BOOSTER if u need it, but if u want to be challenged at all don't take this class. Also, you write a ton of papers & @ one point your paper will be up for "draft" which means EVERYONE in class receives a copy of ur paper(that u have to print off at ur expense)& critiques it infront of u. So, if that idea is mortifying to u, DONT TAKE THE COURSE
