I LOVE ED. I've taken upper level classes with him, and he's an amazing Professor. He is super knowledgeable, and his lectures are really interesting and engaging. He has a very distinct sense of humor that makes his classes fun too.

Professor Schortman is one of the kindest men I've met, and he's very accessible. He has a clear passion for Archaeology and has a lot of really cool experience. If the class wasn't at 8:10, it would have been better, but the lectures can be interesting, and the work is not very difficult. Definitely go to office hours just to chat with him.

Archaeology can be dry (those who only expect mystical tales of hidden treasure and human sacrifice will be disappointed), but Ed makes the subject matter interesting and fun. He has a really dry sense of humor, and has good stories if you chill with him outside of class. Also, his ties are epic.

Here is what you need to know: Edward Schortman once spent an advisory session talking in a high voice and bouncing his dog in his hands, pretending it was his dog helping me choose my courses.
