worst teacher ever. was going through divorce and that was evident with his demeanor in class. as an advisor he was horrible, as a teacher mediocre. only take him if you have to.

took freshman year, made us read Candide which is a great novel by Voltaire, that reason alone worth taking, nothing about the class is hard except staying awake. See how many times he says the word "here" in one class. We counted 55 once.

Lots of reading. Gives really hard papers. He is probably one of the hardest Origins teachers. Has a weird North Dakotian accent. If you don't like taking history, you should try to find an easier teacher.

Origins is a terrible class and the way he taught it made it even worse. His lectures just dronned on and on, usually putting me to sleep. Not an Easy class, not a hard class, not an exciting class. If you can, find someone else to take origins with.
