He is a silly old goose but I like him. Very fair grader. His tests are somewhat difficult but still manageable to get an A if you work for it.

He is a tough professor and his tests are hard, but his lectures are clear and to the point. He has his bad days, but some days he tries to make lecture a bit more enjoyable. He also explains the labs in such a way that you can understand it.

Not the WORST professor but def not the best. 5 tests, drops lowest, 10 questions each. Be smart and read the questions carefully because he is tricky!!! Final is based off of tests and textbook questions. Good luck!

Fair teacher. He teaches you exactly what you need to know for General Chemistry. He's liking a walking cheat sheet. He's not the most enthusiastic teacher and he does have a habit of coming to class late, but you will understand Chemistry and that's what matters. His tests are fair as long as you take good notes and pay attention during his reviews.

Donahue's lectures are very clear. If you listen and take notes, you shouldn't need much extra explanation. I bought a textbook but never used it since going over notes was enough. He'll give you an outline of each test before you take it. The final is basically all 5 quizzes combined. As a person, however, he doesn't seem to care too much.

one of the best chem professors at LIU! his lectures/ explanations are very organized and clear to understand which makes it easy to follow. chem is tough & a lot of studying is required. he seems very intimidating at first but hes very approachable if you have any questions after class. he doesnt curve. exams are much easier than other chem profs.

Just dont take him for chem 4, doesnt care about his students. Office hours are him stepping out of his office and saying 'What". Class may start 30-60 minutes late, IF at all. Tests are not curved and contain tricky questions that are different from his review.

Well what can be said. His test are tough, you really have to study for his test and he does not curve at all. You need the textbook. Attendance is not mandatory but his notes are very useful. Does reviews and sample questions in class but the ones that are on his tests are much more difficult. Class might start on time, late or might not even come.

I don't know why everyone is saying he's the best professor for General Chemistry quite frankly he's not. Tricky test, reviews are not similar as the tests and if you miss a test or lab don't bother asking for make ups he won't let you. Doesn't have the best attitude and he just doesn't care at all. He does not curve at all. You need the textbook

(1) VERY good at teaching PAY attention (aka don't talk to others in class & then complain when you didn't understand something). Explains the theoretical & practical implications of EVERYTHING (2) Sarcastic as hell (fun), ask him a question that shows you were listening & he will answer w/ patience, ask him something he JUST SAID & he'll be pissed
