I absolutly loved this class and text book! I learned so much valuable info & learned how to understand children better. First text book I read front to back. BUT my mark doesn't reflect any of that, I just couldn't do his m/c exams no matter how hard I studied.

Helpful hint do do well in this class: before each class, read your text and highlight anything important. Go to his lecture, use a different colour highlighter, and highlight everything he reads. Bring 1 sheet of paper to draw his diagrams, and write all other notes in the margins of your text. You will do great and this really helps come exams!

The bottom line: Dr. Rawana is one of the nicest men you'll ever meet, but his lectures are dry and some questions that appear on his exams don't appear in the lecture or text (or even contradict the lecture!). You have to work really hard just to do okay. Take the online course: you'll do much better and learn the exact same amount of material.

"Okay, I'd like to get started please": Genuinely, a BRUTAL professor! Reads straight from the text book, yet claims that there is a "lecture" component to his exams. Do yourself a favour and take ONLINE child psych; you have to read the text for his class anyways, so why subject yourself to MIND-BLOWINGLY dry lectures?

A wonderful teacher simply because he enjoys the topic and enjoys helping the students learn it. Granted, his accent and writing abilites could use some work; don't let it discourage you. He is knowledgable and very considerate/fair on tests. No tricks. I'm glad I took the class! Positive experience

Very knowledgeable, hard to understand at times with accent. Overall not the worst prof at LU lectures are ok, but a little dry at times, if you just read the textbook you should be "ok"

Very intesting and knowledgeable professor. Very approachable when needed in help. At times writing can be a little unclear, but otherwise fairly easy to understand, and knew a great deal about this interesting topic!

very hard to follow with his accent, doesn't write clear notes on overheads, thoughts seem to be all over the place, can be a very dry lecture

he is very methodical-sometimes this is good, sometimes annoying-pretty clear on what he wants, allows students to think and contribute, sometimes too "by the book" but fairly approachable for the most part
