I would strongly advise anyone against taking his classes. The material can be interesting however. Work load is low but deosnt mean good marks. He marks looking for EXACT words, so if you miss one your exam mark does down by 5-10%. He is rather disorganized and it shows in his lectures and management of assignments

I am really shocked that some of these reviews are for the same professor I had. DeMont was very nice, fair, helpful and did a great job making a soild class for the engineers. It is possible that he pampered our class because his intent was to make money off of any good designs that we came up with, but overall it was a really great course.

Dr. Demont is absolutely brilliant and deserves much more credit than is given in these comments. His 201 course is extremely interesting, and he is a very approachable man. I will admit that he is super busy outside of class (he holds several important titles at St. FX) so his office hours are far and few between, but great prof all in all.

Horrible prof. He teaches the bare minimum and by some miracle expects students to know everything. His testing method is absolutely ridiculous, it's more like playing the lottery. It's almost like he has no desire to teach the course so he is not helpful at all.

Doesn't care about anything he teaches. Has no personality besides being arrogant, demeaning and unhelpful. Poor lecturer,stutters and mumbles, painful to listen to. Didn't think anyone could so effectively suck the life out of a subject that I otherwise would find fascinating. Don't bother asking him questions, you'll just get insulted.

DeMont's a great guy...very easygoing. Classes are almost a little too laid-back. There's no real structure to this course...kinda felt like he was making it up as he went along. The book was totally unrelated to the course...I didn't even open it - big waste of money there.
