Since this class hasn't been taught in a long time, there's some trial and error to it. There are a large number of readings we're responsible for that we never get to in class. The citation style we use for class is also completely arbitrary as if she made it up, but make sure to follow her instructions clearly or you won't pass with a good grade

Professor Zein is a very tough grader. And most of these things said are true. Her desired answers are subjective and she is picky in her answers. However, she is very clear and precise in what she expects. If you listen carefully, and take notes you will do good. Pass this class and you can pass any F&M class.

WOW. i literally met with her everyday after class, went to the writing center- and spent atleast 5 hours weekly studying for her class, Still got a C. She is ridiculous- and expects you to answer exactly the way she wants- or no points. Deflates grades- highest grade in the class was a b-. this is NOT ok

scariest teacher ever. Don't even bother asking questions because she makes you feel stupid for even asking them. Her course is extremely challenging and she doesn't let you go to the bathroom.

I would highly recommend this class if you enjoy putting in quality work and do not mind getting a grade that reflects otherwise. She is a nice professor/person, but her grading is subjective. Her guidelines for essays/homework assignments are arbitrary. It is ashame that she grades in this manner because I liked the class, but became discouraged.

Professor Zein is ridiculously picky about what she looks for when she grades, and it's very difficult to get a feel for what she's really asking. Her lectures are fairly disorganized and somewhat dull, as are many of the readings. She expects close reading, deep thinking, and hard work, but that's probably not enough. Avoid her if possible.

This is the second class I am taking with her and I still don't know what it takes to get an A in her class! She is very smart and knows a lot about what she teaches. Comment:

She is a good classroom professor (although she could make her lectures more interesting), my main problem with her is her grading. This is an INTRO course. I know you're published and all but we can't write a book on economics yet. SO DON'T GRADE US LIKE WE SHOULD! I have never had the work I put into a class not reflected in the grade until her.
