Comment:

A bit scatter-brained and all over the place but very nice, easygoing and fun. Long lectures, but gave breaks. She covered a lot of interesting material. Be prepared to never get your marks back. Tests, assignments and final were all super easy, if you attended lectures regularly ( but even I would leave part way through and still got an A).

Elena's really fun, she's always laughing at herself which I love. You have to read stuff in this class, and the tests aren't as easy as you might expect so .. just prepare well, but the midterms are done online so that's a plus. One paper, 2 midterms and a final. It was a fun course though

Comment:

GMST 410 : Adorno, Benjamin, and the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory. From the onset the content alone was fabulous, but the professor made the course experience unforgettably challenging, rewarding, and inspiring. An intellectual community is formed in this seminar course's deep textual analysis of some truly great writers and thinkers. 1010.

Quite disorganized and seems like she wants to get done way more than class time allows. The final was boring and became annoying. Frizzle frazzle. Very knowledgeable of topics. Demanded us to know too many details though, that were never tested. Could be more focused and less chaotic.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. Always arrived late, always was disorganized and always lecutured about useless topics. Students had to teach themselves as she would just assign 100 kepwords to define while talking uselessly about basic historic details. The final exam took the class the entire three hours to complete.

A great teacher that cares about her students. But she always runs past her time. It came to the point where I would just get up and walk out at 12:20 which was rude considering the class size was about 15 but I couldn't be late for my math. Overall good teacher but I hate how language is taught in school and the system deterred me from learning.

Elena's class was awesome. Sure she can be a little disorganized but so what. She always sorts things out in the end and anyway, her lectures more than make up for it. Demanding, inspiring and NEVER boring. Great giggle (and GREAT pregnant belly!).

her class was very fun, but i found she's kinda lazy since she barely followed the course outline. we've missed 5 lectures due to her illness and guest speakers so we needed to run a little at the end of the course but overall it was a great class.

Brilliant as an academic and an instructor. She is a tough marker, but clear about what she wants. Treats her students like equals, so students wanting to be spoon fed will not do as well as those who take them time to prepare for class and follow her syllabus. Endless knowledge of language and literature.

Yes, disorganized, very picky marker, and unclear instructions for paper assignments. Concepts perhaps too advanced for an introductory literature course. Also not so much about German literature itself, but rather literary analyses. Reminiscent of high school English courses.

Not the most organized in that she tends to go overtime, and fall behind the lecture schedual because she cares so much about her material. Tough marker and picky about details, which can be good if you need to learn how to improve your citations or style.
