Elias Polizoes is a great prof. His course will challenge you to actually think about the readings, instead of just taking notes. He is helpful, passionate, and really knows his stuff. He is really funny, even though some people don't always get his jokes.

My main problem with this prof (other than him being kind of a d-bag) is that I didn't need to take his course to read the assigned literature. He adds very little in terms of insight and discussion regarding the material. Likes to talk but there's no substance.

As the ?best professor ever?/?worst professor ever? comments indicate, Polizoes excites the passions. I am on team ?best.? If you?re here to learn, he?s very rewarding. Yes, he assigns a lot of material. But if your main complaint is that a lit course contains ?a LOT of literature and reading,? you are wasting eveyone's time, not least your own.

I'm not sure that Polizoes knows what a 100 level course is supposed to include, as he had readings and material appropriate for 2nd and 3rd year courses. Yes, he seems like a know it all at times and he can pick on students. There is a LOT of literature and reading..beware. Also, the TA (Corina) is horrendous...and should never be a professor!!

Likes to hear himself speak and will lecture for the whole semester without encouraging class discussion. Comes off as extremely pompous and arrogant. Has his moments but I found most of his lectures void of the 'genius' he pretends to be. Tries too hard to impress the girls in the class. Probably will never take another class from him.

Do not take any classes from this man unless it is absolutely required! Most of what comes out of his mouth is useless information. Highly recommend bringing a coffee or laptop with wireless internet to his classes if you don't want to fall asleep!

He's the best professor at UWO. I wish that all profs cared about the intellectual development of their students as much as Polizoes. I've taken two of his courses and both were first-rate. Be prepared for an unconventional challenge, but if you really care to learn you'll be greatly rewarded. He's always available for a chat, and is very flexible.

This guy pulls out all the stops to impress the chicks. In fact, he seems more interested in entertaining than in conveying any information. Before the exam I tried to consult some of his publications, just to see what he really thinks, but there weren't any. Buyer beware.
