Took "The Short Story" freshman year and was not told that it was not an English course. Obviously not an English teacher. Does not know how to analyze literature, argue or recognize decent interpretations. Good material. Class taught me how to analyze lit on my own without other students' or teacher's input. Nice teacher, though. (A)

She is a very sweet lady but her classes can be boring. Make sure to go to class! Even though she is boring what she says (when it relates to class) is import because it's on the 2 tests! She does use the text so make sure to buy the books. She is very helpful and loves it when you participate (just don't over do) and NEVER FALL ASLEEP!

She may know her stuff but she's horrible at teaching. Her assignments/outlines are so vague and she is totally absentminded when she's lecturing. No one knows what she's talking about. She expects you to write like you're in the sixth grade. She's also a bitter old lady who gets offended over everything.

She is a sweet woman. You need to read several short stories but they are pretty much SHORT. Some are online and some you need to buy. I recieved mostly A's on my papers but she only wants about 2 or 3 pages. There wasn't much work required, just participate.

One of the worst teachers i ever had. She can not grade. In order to get an A on a paper u must write like a fifth grader, otherwise it is "too wordy". When it comes to writeing she is the worst teacher to have. If u read the stories in her class you should be fine. She is fairly easy, but she puts u too sleep.

As long as you are there and are quiet,she'll like you. Boring in the beginning of class but lots of vids like Gangs of NY and Ragtime, must read novels, they are $5 to $10 each (good reads), easy class,you can negotiate due dates of stuff, overall good. sometimes late for class, and gives bad directions for subways i.e. B train out Grand Central.

Had her for DNY, so she took the literature route for class. Had to buy 8 novels for class, which I never ended up using. Ever. Easy midterm, read sparknotes, you'll be fine. Truly a sweet woman, even if you don't like to read, take her DNY class. It's an easy A from a nice professor who loves what she does.

it's true she makes you fall asleep during class but she justs goes over what you WERE supposed to read before class so.SHE makes you write only 4 papers(inc.term paper)and 2 tests(midterm and final) lenient grader. if you need an A,take this class and make sure you do what she says!!
