I love Colwill! She is such a fascinating and intelligent woman. No matter what level class you take with her she is very interested in helping her students and in their wellbeing. Go to her office hours and show her how hard you are working and it will pay off. Class always has participation points so don't miss if you can avoid it.

Comment:

Just took this class due to the grad. requirement. I was hesitant at first, but I ended up learning a lot and enjoying the course. Colwill is a great professor and if you have the opportunity to take a class with her, do it. The quizzes were a little tricky at times, you just had to do the reading or at least read a detailed summary online.

really nice! weekly, in-depth quizzes on the reading she assigns but dont worry, its pretty interesting stuff. only one research paper about a woman in your family that she spaces out for the entire semester so it was not bad at all. no midterm or final! lots of group work though. awesome class and awesome lady

Such an amazing, intelligent woman! I highly recommend taking this class if you are an IB major. Lots of reading you have to do, quizzes every week, and her research paper isn't too bad, she spaces it out well. NO FINAL! Life changing course, pretty easy A. Why not?

She is a very knowledgeable and interesting teacher which is hard to find at SDSU. Make use of her office hours since she loves to get to know her students better. No exams just weekly unannounced quizzes which are in T/F format and make up about 40% of your grade. The 6-8 page paper is constructed each week as you progress in the class.

Great teacher! Very passionate and knowledgeable. This is not your average history class, no exams..at all! 6-8 MC quizes..drops 2, but still LOTS of reading, mandatory participation, and large project in the middle of the semester. Material gets more interesting as you go. She's nice and wants you to do well, easy upper GE.

This class was easy and very fun! Prof. Colwill always had something fun planned. There is a lot of reading and writing in this course for the weekly reading responses, but other than that no quizes or tests. One large 6-8 page paper at end of class. Overall an inspiring class and an easy A. Loved her.

Very knowledgable about the subject. She makes you feel like there is nothing else in the world that is more important than the history of women! MOST PASSIONATE TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. SHE DOES REQUIRE YOU TO CONSISTENTLY HAND IN ASSIGNMENTS ON WEEKLY BASIS AND BE KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT READING BECAUSE CLASS PARTICIPATION LARGE PORTION OF GRADE. This is a VERY difficult class, but it is worth the effort. Heavy reading load and weekly papers, but the classroom discussions are amazing. A very rewarding class - just stick with it! She is an excellent professor!!!
