She is not a bad teacher at all, but her exams are ridiculous. They are extremely long for the amount of time that you get, and the concepts on the exam are 10x more difficult than what she actually taught you. If you're a slow test taker, you are going to have a really tough time. I am not and still was guessing on questions from lack of time.

Professor Jockusch can be a tough grader, but she explains evolutionary biology in a good, clear way. Outside of class she is a very nice person and a very helpful advisor.

Honestly, she's not awful, but she's not great. The lectures are long, and you need to pay attention. Don't skip class because she posts nothing online. Don't take the W, if you are going to take this with her, because it will be painful and very strict in a way that most W courses aren't. Honestly this class is full of busywork so be prepared.

Prof. Jockusch is a great writer and instructor. Her instructions are clear and I found her to be extremely helpful. She helped to guide me on the best possible direction and approach towards my review paper. I am very impressed by her knowledge and willingness to help the students. The W portion of the course requires serious planning. Don't cram.

Dr. Jockusch is not approachable in the least. She makes you do worksheets for busywork and don't help you at all. Her lectures are boring, and if you don't writetype fast enough you will miss the material because she goes quick and doesn't put anything online. Exams are basically Genetics 2410 but WAY more confusing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! AWFUL!

Worst Professor of my entire life. Listen to me, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I'm no slacker I'm a general bio major and score pretty good grades and work hard. No amount of time effort will guarantee you a good grade with her, to simply put it, the worst professor I have EVER had.

I've taken a lot of hard courses (biochem, orgo sequences, etc.) and must say DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. She is very intelligent but literally one of if not the worst professors I've had in my life. The material is not hard, but her exams are presented horribly as far as wording and even material. Professor Jockusch treats students like they are working on their PhD on EEB. Her examples are long and irrelevant to the exams. She makes you do worksheets and they are extremely time consuming and personally did not help me understand the concepts at all. What really made me hate her teaching style was her disorganization. Overhead notes sucked

This class does take a lot of work. You have to be willing to study and put the time in. Jockusch is really unapproachable and standoffish. Her lectures can be confusing and not cohesive. That being said I did very well in her class because I took the time to review the material! It is totally doable! Good luck!

I liked her a lot in 214; she does throw a lot of information at you, but if you're able to memorize most of the stuff you can pull off a pretty good grade. she's enthusiastic about the material and mentions interesting facts. the only thing i didn't like was copying what she wrote on an overhead...
