I am genuinely bummed that my last class in this HIS program was my first class with Dr. Lehfeldt. I not only learned new tools for examining historical works, but the open and inclusive environment she created as a facilitator, helped me create lasting friendships with classmates. I'm a better person and student of history for taking this course.

Challenges students to read text critically and questions for exams are difficult. Keeping up with the reading is essential for understanding material presented in the lecture. Fair with students as longs as they make an effort to engage in the class. Occasional group work that is ultimately helpful in understanding the material presented.

This professor was awesome!!!! She knows her material and is not offended if someone corrects her. The reading is heavy at the beginning of class but by the last month there is hardly any. There is a midterm, final and paper but none of it was over taxing. I can not wait to take another class with her.

This Professor was fantastic and very knowledgeable on the subject matter. The class was a great class, reading load at times was a little heavy but nothing unmanageable and was able to keep the readers attention. Attendance and Participation are a MUST. Will take another class with her and encourages other to do so as well.

Excellent prof. Great lecture class, but included (and she expects) a lot of class discussion. Required really interesting reading material (although the book on Elizabeth was much too long in my opinion). If you are interested in Women's history THIS is definitely your kind of class.

Very good Prof, good lectures, engages and welcomes discussion. Grading is on the strict side, but fair. Responds to email and is helpful. There is an extremely high workload for the class (reading especially).

Professor is very knowledgeable about topic. Is extremely rough & strict when it comes to student's writing, though. Expects undergrads to be as knowledgeable as grads or she is. Tests are very easy and vague, not too detail oriented. Talks a lot about things that have nothing to do with the Bubonic plague near the last month or so of the course.
