I took the class co-taught by John Rundin and Emily Albu. Compared to professor Rundin, she definitely added things in lecture that weren't on the slides, so it was more important to attend in order to catch everything she wanted you to know. However, she was very nice and the class was an easy A.

Dr. Albu is so sweet and helpful. Although her lectures could be boring, she was a very clear speaker and truly wanted everyone to succeed.

Comment:

Professor Albu had a great understanding of Greek and Latin and the rest of the material. She covered about half of the lecture and John Rundin covered the rest. There is weekly homework and quizzes every Friday. The quizzes are worth the majority of your grade and your 2 lowest scores are dropped. Daily Tophat questions graded on participation.

Emily Albu is a caring and knowledgeable professor. She is also a great storyteller. I really enjoyed the class and would recommend it as a GE. 9 quizzes, 2 lowest scores are dropped. A lot of memorization but still an easy class.

Along with Professor Rundin, made CLA 030 an easy class to get through. I still had to study regularly, but at least the professors were enjoyable enough so that I was motivated to study.

I liked Albu more than Rundin because she was not as scattered and told a more wholesome story that was easy to remember. Her lecture content, however, is more dry. This class overall is not an easy A but is an easy B or C. In order to get an A, you need to memorize about 200 things a week (not exaggerating). Just be prepared to WORK WORK WORK.

NOT an easy A. definitely have to put in work. each week there is a CUMULATIVE quiz, and you have to memorize the info from the lectures of the week of, AND weeks before. small details are often on quizzes. great & sweet teacher, but be prepared to memorize. clickers required for attendance points.

Professor Albu is great! Very clear, easy-A type class. Made class very fun as well! Word roots tend to be a boring somewhat confusing subject, but Prof. Rundin and her made it worthwhile.

By no means an easy A. Nice and enthusiastic professor but the way the course is structured doesn't reflect that passion, it only shows they want to pull numbers. Missing more than 1 question on a quiz takes away your A. Every quiz has a few detailed questions designed to make you lose points, you can answer then if you are lucky. Clickers needed.

Really wanted to like this class. The focus of the course was not 100% into learning GreekLatin, which I had hoped for. Prof Albu is a very sweet and kind person (as is Rundin), but their class was boring and tougher than expected. I got a C+ in an "easy" 3 unit GE. Would have really like a more positive experience.

Super easy A. You certainly have to work for an A, but they literally tell you everything that will be on the quizzes/final, so if you don't do well, it is your own fault for not studying. I found this class quite enjoyable as the material is interesting. She is a good lecturer, but has little control over the class. Definitely recommend!

It's a good class. While everyone says it IS easy, you do have to put the work in and study for every Friday's quiz. if not, its hard so you can't blow it off. homework is due usually every week, and the final is cumulate.

This class is a pretty easy GE class, and one can easily get an A if you study right before the quiz. There isn't much work involved other than the weekly quizzes. Prof. Albu is a very nice professor however her lectures can get kind of boring sometimes. Take this class if you are planning to go into the medical field because the word roots helps.

Super easy class, interesting material, take this as a GE! Easy A if you go to class and do the small amount of work required. Super sweet and helpful professor, however, Albu's voice has a way of putting anyone to sleep. Bring coffee!

Truly an amazing professor! She is really knowledgable about the subject and you can tell she's excited to teach about it. There's a prospectus for every quiz so you know exactly what to study for which makes this class an easy A if you put in a little bit of effort! I highly recommend taking a class with her!

Albu is so smart. I love when she reads and speaks in latin and old english. The material provides things you can use outside of the classroom. Great professor... Her and Rundin both. Great class.
