only take his class if you already know what is being taught or if he's teaching a lab because you don't really learn anything. if your nice to him he will let pretty much everything slide.

Comment:
Emmanuel is serving as a chem lab tech this semester- and it's a bit of a roller coaster. He comes late. He forgets to prepare plates and kits. He tells you you have a confirmation test when you don't. He sets variable expectations. But he is a caring guy who, if you can overcome the language barrier, will work with you. Friendly. Absent-minded. :)

I had emmanuel for lab and he was great. He made lab fun and was a great person to be around. He wasn't always the most clear person with answers but at least he was more direct than David Myers.

Emmanuel Dongala is an amazing, adorable, French speaking, Congolese author who may not remember your name and may not be clear but if you try to talk to him you'll see that he truly cares about his students and will go to the end of the earth to help students despite his lack of clarity. Also the man has some incredible stories to tell.

Comment:
Emmanuel is a nice guy but very difficult to work with. His lessons meander and contradict themselves. He gets confused by simple questions or statements and can sometimes be very argumentative and have trouble seeing others points of view. Very forgetful, very absent-minded.

Comment:
Awful. Dongala makes many mistakes in his chemistry lectures and labs. He will tell you not to memorize anything; do it anyway, as your exams will require infromation from the tables you were not supposed to memorize. His class gets severly behind schedule, so you won't be prepared for CHEM 101.

Comment:
Can be unclear in the classroom. Some people blame his accent, but the real trouble is that he's absent-minded--sometimes contradicts himself or doesn't teach things in a logical order. During lab, though, he's willing to actually help you with your experiment and not just tell you what to do. Nice guy overall.

Comment:
Emmanuel is, quite simply, the worst teacher I have ever encountered in the education profession. The 3 hours I spent in his class each week were complete and utter wastes of my time. He repeatedly gave us the wrong information. Also, he repeatedly messes up grading, so be SURE to look at any tests.

Emmanuel knows what he's talking about, but he makes a lot of mistakes when teaching, which tends to slow down the class and confuse us.
