Absolutely love Enrique. He's so kind and knows how to teach a beginner Spanish course very well. It's a language class so expect to put in some work but the course load is very manageable and Enrique prepares you so well for midterms and exams. Miss him as a professor, definitely take Spanish with him.

I LOVE THIS MAN! Simply an amazing, very caring, humorous professor who genuinely wants his students to succeed. He's a really good teacher and his classes were always enjoyable. Tests were no different than other 100-level SPAN tests, but he prepares you well for them. Genuinely enjoyed going to this class!

I loooooved him! He is funny and engaging. Expect memorization, but it's language course. He is a little bit not structured, but he talks a lot in Spanish, so you pick up words. Attendance not mandatory, but I liked the class and wanted to come every time.

I came into this class speaking absolutely no Spanish. He is an absolutely amazing prof I really enjoyed this class. He made class fun and I have learned so much of this new language just within a semester. Attendance is not taken, but participation is a fair amount of your grade. You have to go to class but it is fun so it's fine!

I loved taking Spanish 101 with Enrique! He is such a cool prof, super approachable and made spanish class fun. His teaching style is great, and I found it really easy to learn a new language with his help. It's very clear what will be on tests and he treats all students fairly. He is the best, would definitely take a class with him again!!

Best Spanish professor I could hope for. Took my interest in the language and turned in into a full fledged obsession. Tests well, always willing to help and treats students with respect. Going to class is a must, but you really dont mind going since his class is so much fun.

Profesor Manchon is by far the best Spanish teacher. He has so much passion for teaching and cares very much for his students to learn to the best of their ability. The class is challenging, but with time and effort you can do well. He is so helpful and very approachable. He makes the class very fun to go to!

There are a lot of good Spanish Profs at UBC, but I think Enrique is the best. He is funny, interesting, and keeps class as relaxed and fluid as possible. The most amazing professor I've had; never thought learning a language would have been so enjoyable and interesting... he was somehow able to use Spanglish to such an easy extent that by the end of the course most of the class more or less understood his straight Spanish questions. Very supportive and enthusiastic. Get a class with him if you can.

A very enjoyable teacher. He can be quite funny and interesting. In my opinion he makes an otherwise dull class much more enjoyable through his wit and personality. However, his marking is tough but fair. My class average was only 67%, but if you put in the effort you will be rewarded.

Took his SPAN101 summer class. Fantastic teacher with a great sense of humor, knowledgeable about general culture and languages and motivated to teach. Average was low, although I got an A without that much work. I guess some students just don't have talent for languages. Exams are fair and you know what to expect 100%.
