Comment:

Very sweet and has a soft voice! The class does get boring but easy just do the two papers and get feedback from him. He lets you turn in the mini research paper up to three times. His class made me appreciate poetry a lot more. You will struggle if you dont attend! Lecture heavy. Be mindful of quiz dates he doesn't remind you the day before.

Professor Padilla is one of the sweetest and helpful professors. He will not let you fail and will help you as much as possible. His voice is pretty soothing you will fall asleep, but you will love him.

Professor Padilla was by far the best teacher I ever had at SMC. His class is very easy and if you take it you won't regret it. You don't have to do much. If you pass the common essay you automatically pass the class. TAKE HIM, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

I took this class during the summer semester so it was supposed to be short. He said we would be writing 9 essays and required us to write journal entries, but he was confusing about when to turn them in because he later required to write 3 essays and no journal entries. He gave good feedback but his class was really boring.

Textbook is VERY expensive but essential. He is a very nice man but I didn't learn anything from this class. Lectures are long and boring. Tbh I never paid any attention, but still got an A. Just do well on your midterm and finals (very easy), write the mini paper and research paper, and the 5 journal entries... You don't even have to be that good

All textbooks are expensive. If you have no knowledge of English Literature, do not take him. He's not clear and sometimes he goes off topic. Yes, you will be very bored and will read a lot in class. However, he's a nice guy.

He's nice, even though you have to spend almost $200 dollars for a textbook! If you buy the older versions you'll be fine. He is nice, but the second half of the semester is ridiculous. He reminds you that you have to do a 4 pg essay and at the end of the semester a 9 pg essay along with the final. it's all very clumped together.

Took during 13' fall. Few writing assignments. Ask for help, you get an A on every papers. Very easy going class, but very boring. Do great on the mid-term, 98% chance you end up getting an A without doing hw and classwork.

I took Professor Padilla's Eng 2 class and he was extremely helpful and very passionate about literature and teaching. Buy the book. It is a little pricey but what books aren't. All essays come from book. Attend all classes, do the assignments and you will do great. He also helps 1 on 1 with students. Great professor and class overall.

Professor Padilla is a great teacher! If you love poetry and short stories you will love this class. Buy the book. All essays come from the book. A little pricey but has all the great poems and short stories and sample essays from prev. students. It's very helpful. Professor will spend 1 on 1 time. He really cares and wants each student to succeed.

This professor's assignments are far from easy considering he's subjective grader and not an objective grader. However, he is passionate about what he teaches and shows that he truly cares for his students. He admires and gives you credit for your effort even if your writing doesn't conform to his subjective grading scale.
