4 exams, 5-6 quizzes, and the final. HW is assigned and MML is recommended but none of it is collected or graded. He goes through problems fast and picks tough ones for the exams. So you need to do the ch exercises from the text to ensure you'll know everything. Got an A but could've easily failed (on 4 exams i got: 80%, 60%, 50%, 90%). Tough class

It's really hard to describe him. He is a really nice guy, but does not get his message across to students very often. Also, he expects *a lot* of work from students. You have to do homework everyday. Calc 2 is hard, but he doesn't make it any easier. However, he'll help you if you go to his office hours. 4 exams, 6 quizzes, one final. Final is 30%

I took his class because I had no other choice. Regret taking it. Grades scale is different. For example: 85-100% A, 70-84% B, and so on. 6 quizes, lowest one will drop. 4 examns and a final. Super hard. He mumbles during lecture. Can't undersand what he is saying. Expects you to know everything and to do the hw. No extra credit or curve.

I read the reviews and thought, "well, anyone could pass a class if you study hard." WRONG. Take Franco and I PROMISE you will be retaking this course. STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY!

One of the worst math teachers I've ever had. Doesn't seem to know the material very well himself because he constantly pauses, mumbles and starts over. Extremely hard to follow during lecture; he jumps all over the place. Don't take him unless you have NO other choice! He is however a nice enough guy and is willing to help if you ask.

Dr. Franco is not very good professor but is willing to help. You have to ask him for help instead of being silent and not learning anything. He lectures all the time and attendance is not mandatory. But if you want to learn, come everyday and ask questions. Also, these materials are kind of hard to understand, so you'll have to teach yourself.

This guy was not the best teacher I ever had, but is not as bad as some of these other reviews. Grade based on exams only, they were very similar to the homework problems. Math classes require you to study on your own, the teacher is not to blame.

This professor was probably the worst person I have ever taken at state. He doesn't speak English very well and he mumbles. He stumbles over his words and doesn't comprehend his students. He spends too much time going over stuff from the day before because he couldn't teach it well the first time.

I absolutely hate this teacher. His English isn't terrible but he tends to get lost. There have even been times where he didn't know how to solve a problem. He takes up about an hour to do 2 problems, but he doesn't explain how to do them, he just writes it on the board. His class is just test based.If you want to learn take someone else.

Ok,some have this mixed up. His English is perfect and clear.Assigns homework but doesn't collect/grade/check it.If you can do the assigned problems with confidence then you will find his tests/quizzes are predictable and straightforward.Grade is conglomerate of 3 midterms 3 quizzes and a final exam. Lectures are ok, just need to ask when unclear.

I enjoy math but the way "Dr." Franco literally writes up his tests is different from the homework which means you need to understand what you need to solve. He is hard to understand, he mumbles a lot and sometimes gives unclear examples. I recommend taking him only if you can teach yourself the math concepts by just reading the book. (3/10)

Brilliant, insane genius â€" no joke. Anyhow, deep down I think he's nice but very aloof (not approachable). He’s harder than hell too. I'm usually an A student when I try, but I was only able to earn a B from him despite LOTS of effort and studying. He's not too mean, though. The B was charity (I guess he curves) as I got C's or worst on tests.

He was a nice guy, made a few jokes but I hated that we didn't have to turn in HW..whats the point of assigning HW if we arent going to turn it in...He was unclear at times and couldn't understand him. The test were not hard but all hand written.
