Comment:
She gets the required Chinese book and reads out of it, I could do that. Tests are very hard, she's a biased grader. Fails people fairly regularly. Left her job at UNC Charlotte, over half the class complained and warned anyone who wanted to take Chinese NOT to take her.

As long as you understanding that you are walking into a CHINESE class, which can be difficult even for some who have grown up speaking it around the house, the work level is completely reasonable. Yo Laoshi is very nice and cares about her students, but you gotta work!

Fun and easy (if you study) class. Make note cards and review them often. Gives tedious homework and is strict on attendance, but class is fun and you often get out early.

Great teacher, very helpful, very nice. Strict on attendance. To get a good grade you must constantly study and use flashcards to memorize characters. With effort you can get a B or A. I studied Chinese on my own a bit before taking the course, so I ended up with an A, but flashcards are the best way to study. A lot of quizzes.

Only teacher available so hopefully you will like her. Strict about attendance. Sometimes confusing but altogether a good teacher. Just make note cards and review them all year and you will do just fine.

One of the best teachers I have had in my 4 years at UNCC. There is a lot of work, but at the end of the semester you might actually feel like you learned something, instead of memorizing something and forgeting it. This is what more college courses should be like!! Take this course and surprise yourself at your ability to learn something new!!!

She is the best chinese teacher I can tell, test are hard. Final 100 MC and 20 Tranlations. Fast pace class, study hard don't fall behind. She actually explained it very well, but Chinese is kinda random. Too many characters and she expects u to know a lot, I got an A but its not going to be an easy B for you guys
