Forums are long: 500 to 1,000 words with a citation. But the answers come from the lessons and are pretty easy to complete, although there is some writing. Two 250 words peer response, no citations. 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 8-10 page research paper. Pretty standard class. You will have to be a little proactive with the forums. Picky on APA.

Do not listen to the bad comments for this professor. It's an upper level college course, which means there are standards. If you don't know how to do APA in-text citations at this point in your life then yes, you might struggle, but that's on you. If you're in the military the work load isn't all that much and therefore doable with 1 other class.

Professor Beshears is hands down the best professor I've had. He grades fair and does it in a timely manner. He definitely makes you work for your grade (but that's how it should be). If you are struggling with the class just email him and he is more than willing to help you out. I will be taking future classes with Professor Beshears!

When things became rough for me during the middle half of the semester Professor B. was in my email encouraging me to keep pushing. One of my best instructor as APUS! You have to pay close attention as I missed week 1's extra credit because I did not read the Announcements page.

Open book no time limit mid and final exam. One research paper 8-10 pages and X discussion forums. Follow the forum guideline and you will pass. No complaints! Wish I could take all my classes with him.

Dr. Beshears is very understanding. This is the second class I have taken with him and both times I received an '-A' (I do not agree with AMU grading scale; how is a 95% an '-A'). No tests, only a mid and final exam that is available to view when the class start so you literally have all semester to work on it.

Great Professor! Yes, you do have to participate and cite correctly. This is a college course you know. Prof. gives feedback, and if you put in the time you get the grade. 8 forums with mid-term, final exam, and 8-10 pg research paper. Pretty simple work, but again you have to actually do it.

I learned nothing. You are not required to utilize critical thinking. Be prepared to cite everything and if you do copy and paste information, it gets stripped out of the online platform. I got an A- all because my APA formatting got reformatted when I pasted my work into the forums and tests. It's an APA class, not a CJ course.

Very strict with APA format and takes off a lot of points. Most of your work is weekly post but only 19% of grade. For both exams and research paper, you may have a good understanding of material but incorrect format or citing will cost you a lot of points. Final paper is graded with comments, but at this juncture it's too late

He will make corretions on the final paper which is a good learning point, but many of the mistakes could have been fixed during weekly post. Dont email him either. He does not like to be questioned

This was my second class with Professor Beshears, and was completely different on the second go around. Although he was still helpful in many ways, he gives a lot of work and grades strictly on APA formatting. Having just a few classes left he teaches a lot of them, this will be my last with him. He's not bad, just be prepared to work all week long
