I'm so surprised this professor doesn't have a higher rating! I took her online class & thought she was great! She is so sweet, always willing to help, and gives you feedback on every assignment! I've never had a professor who seems so genuinely interested in his/her students before and helping them succeed. Can't say enough good things about her!

very nice woman. very disorganized approach. does not focus on writing but on endless discussion of issues. $$$ on endless copies of articles. adds more busy work to every assignment, tiny details that make you crazy because you are never done. she does not handle tech well, so you will make piles of copies of everything you submit on Blackboard.

I dont know what everyone is talking about but i took dr.fuchs' class fall quarter and my whole class thought she was awesome. She is a bit old and slow with technology, i.e she googled "google images" once. But hey, if youre looking for an easy A, this is the class to take. I guess she teaches 1001 better than her other classes...

Comment:

Boring class, this teacher teaches an advanced class like it's remedial English. Some work was similar to what my fourth grader does-simile and metaphor work and examples of complete sentences. There is also a 3 pg paper every week even when a major paper is due and there's only 4 days to write the weekly paper. Also I just didn't learn anything.

Ridiculous teacher. Keeps you till the last minute doing homework-you can go home if she finishes early you have to stay and do assignment in the lab. She's also BORING. Rambles on and on nonsensically. The course load is also crazy heavy-you expect a lot of reading and writing but this is a too much and she changes the syllabus at the last minute

Not really clear on assignments. she emails a list of things to do on Sunday nights, which doesn't help when you have her class on Monday! some assignments where unnecessary and she would add extra to what she wanted last minute. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS ITS BORING. and when you say something she doesn't like she will look at you very funny

Dr. Fuchs is a WONDERFUL teacher! She is by far the kindest professor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Dr. Fuchs provides a very encouraging learning atmosphere and her personality is kindhearted and uplifting. She is endearing and I loved her class! She always emails the students with assignment details, which is very useful. Easy course!

If you fail her class, that only means one thing-- you acted like an elementary student! We are in college and so she expects her students to be responsible and hardworking. This woman has a gift for TEACHING. You'll realize it when you take her class. LISTEN to all her instructions, specially her comments. SHE IS VERY HELPFUL. Take her!

She's a very caring professor and wants all her students to excel. She's always willing to help you revise your essays. NEVER BE shy. Respect her because she deserves it. Come to class on time. Participate in all the class discussions. Ask whenever you get lost. Do your best, and she will reward you for that! I loved her class. I learned a lot!

Under no circusmstances would I ever reccomned Dr. Fuchs! She changes her requirements on the go, grades the same assignments differently for different students, and gives grades on big assignments that don't exist (ie: A/B+), and that is just naming a few. This is the first and only time I have ever slammed someone on this, she is just that bad!

Prof. Fuchs has the best intentions at heart, and I'm sure is really a very nice woman. But that doesn't make her a great instructor! She assigns mass amounts of reading, even for an English class. Her lectures lack cohesiveness and she discusses the novels only superficially. I would not recommend her to anyone I like.
