A really good prof. Concise and clear lectures that follow closely with textbook chapters. Feel as though many students on here are projecting how they felt about their grade on to him. Stay on top of textbook and attend lectures and you'll be fine.

Awesome prof if you want the grades you MUST work hard for them. Be an adult about it. Go to class, don't be late (really hates that) and seek help if you dont understand it RIGHT AWAY. He is happy to help, but he isn't going to hold your hand through the course. I had him for 090 Bio as well as CGE and will take his genetics class next for sure.

Comment:

Sitting at the front is highly recommended, as Ahmad is a little bit hard to hear in large classrooms at times. His lectures aren't overly interesting, so he makes a couple of jokes here and there to spice things up. Textbooks aren't essential, but they help to improve your understanding aside from the lectures and notes.

Comment:

A hilarious professor and made things interesting. The lectures were heavy and it was hard to follow the lecture at times. The exams were fairly easy but a bit difficult at times. Fairly approachable, and a nice guy altogether.

A lot of people found his part of the class (Genetics) difficult. I on the other hand, found it not as. I found his lectures enjoyable and easy to understand. The exams do take a lot of studying, but it was definitely not as hard as a lot of people say it is. His part was the easiest of the three in my opinion.

While he is a difficult instructor I found that if you were willing to apply yourself and actually ask for help he would direct you as best as he could. There is an awful lot of material to know and understand and its expected to be difficult given the nature of the course and material.

Was really confusing in the lectures. Tests were extremely hard. Didn't know what was going on half of the time. Ahmad is really scattered in his lectures and doesn't really know what he's talking about sometimes.

This was the hardest class I have ever taken. Even though I always attended class and spent a lot of time studying my notes and reading the textbook I still had no idea what was going on. Tests were insanely difficult and had questions not covered in lectures. Buy the study guide, it helps a bit. Avoid if you just need a science credit.

Ahmad is a great person, who really cares about his students. His tests are half multiple choice and half short answer which was really appreciated, but were very difficult. You must read the text, lecture notes, and attend his lectures to do well. Be prepared to work for results!

He wasn't the best teacher I've ever had, but he's definitely not the worst either. The pop quizzes were difficult but the test itself was alright if you study a bunch. The exam wasn't terrible. Wasn't really good either, though.

He is extremely intelligent and often expects his class to be equally as smart as him. He is notorious for having tests that are quite difficult, but enough studying can get you a decent grade. He can make funny jokes though which is the only positive thing he has going for him as a prof. I wouldn't take a class with him if I didn't have to.

One of the worst taught classes and professor I've ever had. You would study for hours on end and still end up with an awful grade. Doesn't explain anything, and the exams are brutally difficult. Seems he picks his questions out of nowhere. I DID have an interest in Biology however he kind of killed it for me.

Nice man, approachable, will help if you ask, understanding if you have a problem. Tests and exams are a little difficult but if you study enough you should be fine. Has good humor in class, likes to get to know everyone as the course goes on.

If it was possible to avoid him I most definitely would have, too bad he is the only egenetics prof at BU. Class isn't too bad, labs are fairly slack but he is a strict marker on the lab assignments. Terrible exams though! Questions are sometimes ambiguous and some things he never talked about in class.

Spends more time trying to make jokes and students like him than actually teaching. He needs to work on how to explain basic concepts. Hard to follow; especially his lectures. His powerpoints are not organized, and he talks fast so you have to write fast. I was interested in Genetics, now I dislike it. Take a course with him only if you have too!
