I would have dropped out of his class if it wasnt mandatory for my major. The way he spoke was completely incoherent and I rarely understood what was going on. He gave no help as to what we needed to know for the exam, and I have never felt more unprepared.

Comment:
His speaking style was incoherent. The test was near impossible to prepare for. disregarded any practical question that was asked of him and very rarely changed his lecture style when asked. The lecture was entirely oral with next to no visual aid he was always getting lost and assigned difficult readings for book reports, Good luck.

Comment:
His classes were long and drawn out, little focus on readings, lots of personal anecdotes, usually not relevant to the subject at hand. Shows poor understanding of key concepts and of how democracy works. No slides which leads to disorganized lectures and LOTS of rambling. Generally unpleasant class.

The content of this class is already very boring and very content heavy, and the way that this professor teaches makes it worse. He does not use lecture slides and has no clear direction as to where he wants his lectures to go - making it very confusing.

Very passionate about the topic at hand, to the point where he leaves out vital details in his lectures as if any of the students understand what he is saying. The readings assigned make little to no sense and he fails to explain the significance behind them. Readings assigned are boring and hard to follow as well.

Professor Rajaee is the worst professor I've EVER had, his lectures are just tangents for 2 hours and very hard to follow along. He does not provide clear instructions on any of his assignments or exams, he originally stated the final exam was short answer and long answer then it magically changed to 10 short answer questions and 2 essays!

I am a strong hard working upper year student with a high GPA and this class totally sucked. 3 entire books very deep political philosophy that most do not touch until their upper years. Class had no direction - he went on rants, using drugs in Iran and spoke to much about god. exam was the hardest ever.. no help from the TAs ..

I don't know why my rating was deleted. This prof was in over his head by trying to teach an intro to political science course. He excels at philosophy by ranting about 'inspired' ideas, but can not deliver the basics of a political system. Absolute disappointment with his performance and lack of ability to deliver core content.

If you went to see the prof during office hours or talk to him after class he was a very nice guy. The worst however, was how complex his work was for a 1st year course. I am a 3rd year and had trouble grasping concepts. If you are a visual learner, STAY away from his classes, no slides and extremely hard to follow. Not clear on assignments as well

Farhang Rajaee was by far the worst professor I have had so far. His course was not even a course on politics and democracy, but more of a political philosophy. The readings were next to impossible for the students to understand, and the lectures neither had slides or any structure and substance. I would urge any student to never take his course.

I took his political science class which ended up being more like philosophy. I hated it. Very nice man overall. He does NOT use slides and refuses to use them which makes lectures really difficult as he has a thick Persian accent and speaks very quickly. lots of reading

Nice guy and very passionate about The topic of religion. Only thing I'd say is that he's very opinionated but also open minded at the same time. Would highly recommend taking a course with him.

A truly outstanding prof with a clear passion for what he teaches. Always available for help and will go out of his way to make sure that you leave his office satisfied. Also pretty funny and tells lots of colourful stories which make the classes really interesting. Definitely a challenging class but well worth it.

Possibly the most inspired course I've ever taken at Carleton. He provides insight into pertinent issues of the day and really shows the nuances and complexities of abstract, and practical material. Truly dedicated to helping students learn and always available for questions. Will not stop trying to help you untill you understand.

NOT what I was expecting from a 4th year class. Lectures were a joke and a lot of the time he had no idea what he was talking about. Messed up Hobbes, Locke (confused the two even!), Foucault, and that's when I stopped going to classes.
